Hi everyone!

I just applied on 12/17 online. Miami Field Office. Got a May 2020 completion estimate.

I also requested a name change. Anyone have experience with this? How much does it delay the process, how many ceremonies a year, etc.?

Thanks!

Hi all - been ages since I posted here but thought I would fling out an update.

Brief timeline if I can remember it -

Applied online for N400 around December 20, 2017.

Biometrics January 20 something 2018.

Interview notice received December 5th 2018.

Interview in Miami on January 7th 2019.  So it was about 13 months from application to interview.

Interview went fine. Passed all tests - even the English language test!  Phew.  Worried about that one.  😉

Straightforward case, lived here almost 10 years, no gaps in residency.  Been with other half 20 years, married for 6 years. All joint tax returns provided, and I supplied 2017 tax return at the interview when asked if I wanted to supply more evidence.

Result - A decision cannot be made at this time.  😣

Oh well - what can you do?  I asked the IO why?  She said she wanted to review the application to make sure everything in order. I asked how long.  She said she couldn’t say, but it would be up to 120 days.

It doesn’t bother me as I have a green card so its not like I can’t live, work, travel etc - just bored of always waiting for these people.

Miami takes so long I don’t hold out for anything changing soon, but just wanted to update Miami filers that although it doesn’t seem like it, things do happen sometimes!

Well that all happened very fast, way faster than I was expecting considering this is Miami!!!   - the day after I post here (maybe that jinxed it into moving forward!! 😝) - things started moving.

Yesterday, I woke up to texts from USCIS that my case had updated - exciting.  Checked my email and I had an email stating my application had been approved and had been submitted for a quality review, after that I would be placed in line for oath ceremony.

Then two hours later, another flurry of texts and emails - for some reason I seem to get 3 of each for each change in status.

This one stated that I had been placed in line for oath ceremony and details had been mailed to me - wooooo!  Finally.

Today, was able to look online at the uploaded mailings to see my letter, and my oath ceremony is February 8th.  So not too long to wait.

I thought my wait was a long one, but hang in there folks, there will be light at the end of the tunnel!

Hi any AOS interview scheduled recently? I have Oct 2017 date.

I'm in the same boat with my wife, still no scheduled interview for our GC. We're both September 2017 fillers. On  March 16 it will be 1 year since last status changed, with btw is: Case Is Ready To Be Scheduled For An Interview.

I called several times a few months ago and did an Infopass on October 2018, a year after my case was received but it did not help at all. Just "bla bla, sit and wait".

Next week I'll schedule an info pass for the beginning of April, my 180 days work permit extension expires in June and I'm very worried about it.

Hey there, I have a question: when did your status change to "Ready To Be Scheduled For An Interview"?
My AOS RD date is early August 2018, and it's still stuck at "Fingerprint Fee Was Received"

🤷‍♀️

EDIT: whoops, I misread your post, I see that your status changed in March 2018. Ugh, looks like I'm in for the longest wait ever.
