My daughter has been waiting her priority date is 09/26/16 but no changes yet. What is taking CSC so long? They stop working on our cases.

The case is no moving further since December....this is happening only in CSC.... where can we enquire why it's being so late?

Hello,

I see that you received your NOA1 on 11/14/16 based on your timeline and that CSC has processed cases up to 1/1/17 for I-130 for USC filling for spouse. Have you tried calling USCIS to let them know that your case is out of sync since they are currently working on cases beyond your PD? If the operator cannot help you or provides a generic response, I would request to speak with a supervisor or have them call you. I ran into the same situation where the service center was processing cases beyond my PD and I escalated the situation to a supervisor. A week later my I-130 was approved. I hope this helps!

So you're going for a F2A (family preference) visa, not a CR-1/IR-1 (immediate relative) visa. Your profile and timeline show CR-1/IR-1.

There is about an 18 month delay from filing to a visa number becoming available for F2A visas, with the whole process taking about 2 years from filing to visa in hand.

Uttam,

Geowrian is correct. I assumed that you it was a CR-1/IR-1 visa since it is listed in your profile. I apologize for the confusion. I checked CSC and they have currently processed cases up to 8/23/16. It would suggest to wait until CSC is processing November cases. You will get there.

This update shows august23,2016 since the December 2016... that means they haven't moved even a single day since December showing the same date (august 23 ) then and now. What may be the reason for this

Uttam,

USCIS and NVC are all back logged since last year. They are currently overloaded with petitions and cases. USC are given priority over LPR cases, which is why Geowrain commented that your case will be further delayed compared to CR-1/IR-1 visa.

I am greencard holder. I have applied for my wife in nov 14,2016. But the case is still not approved and its going to be 1 year now. I have noticed California has not approved any green card case in 2017 unlike other states. Why is this happening with California ?

If you mean the I-130 is still pending then this is normal.

Under the F2A preference, they're currently processing applications with a priority date of October 2015 and earlier. So even if the I-130 was already approved, you'd still need to wait another year or so for that.

Because you have to wait until your priority date is current, there is no urgency on USCIS to approve the petitions quickly for spouses of LPRs. Even if they approved it quickly, it would sit untouched at NVC. Either way, it sits untouched due to the wait for the priority date to become current.
