Please contact your senator. I know we will eventually have the visa for our loved ones; however we should not let other suffer too!!!

I have applied for a non immigrant visa, can i still contact a senator? I thought only immigrant visa applicants can contact senator. If there is a way please let me know.

Thanks Khan1985. Contacting the senator applies mainly to American Citizens and Green card holders. Since they are tax payer and for the citizens they vote in the elections. I wish you best of luck!

Can you give us an idea to what you said in your email? It would help tremendously for us who want to also contact our congressman.

Hi Tiyyo. If you live in the US and an American citizen or a green card holder, you need to contact your congress representatives: Including the senators and congressman representatives. They can raise the problem at the congress and also contact the Embassy on your behalf. I am an American citizen, I pay my tax and do everything by the book. My senators should know what I am going through is simply unfair. I am separated from my loved one (My spouse) for no known reasons. We did everything we are asked to do and yet we didn't get visa for our spouses. My senator should know this. So if you are in US and you are a citizen, you need to contact your senators. I appeal to everyone here to contact his/her congress representatives and senators. If we do not do so, this is going to be delayed for unlimited time, we will suffer and others will also suffer.

Lawyers don't reply. They say its a routine thing and AP has been happening since a long time. Nobody can expedite this process. Some cases have short AP and some have the longest. I think only prayer can change the current situation now.

I am asking you to contact your senators not the lawyers. Senators always respond to their constituent queries. Members of the congress matter. They need to be informed about what is going on so that they may fix this at the Federal level.

TangierMorocco is saying to contact your government representatives so that our voices can be heard, for the benefit of others in the future.

Hi Tiyyo, no, I am not asking you to contact your government.

I am asking you to contact the USA members of the congress if you are a US citizen or green card holder. If you are not a US citizen, I request you to be patient and wait until you get your visa. So my appeal only apply to the US citizens and green card holders. Thank you!!!

I meant the US government representatives. Congresspeople and senators represent you in the government. And, "your", meaning the reps that represent the US resident.

And, of course, any American can be writing to their reps for any reason, so if you have friends or family, who are concerned about this, they can write too!

Soo.. the legal department of my company has contacted the embassy for an estimate dates for DS-5535 completion.

The reply was.. "DS-5535 takes from 2 to 7 months to get approved."

I have applied for a B2 visa - business visit.

It got approved in person, took my passport then called me the day after to fill the DS-5535 form.
