I have some great news, Alhamdulillah! After having our Visa Interview for a permanent resident, spouse vIsa (not fiance) in Casa Blanca on June 19th, 2017 and being placed in Administrative Processing with form DS 5535, my wife was issued her Visa on January 29th, 2018. She now has her sealed envelope in her hand and can enter the country anytime between now and June 22nd, 2018.

 

I visited her in Fes in early January and let the Consulate know that I was in the country through email. They then called her and asked if I was indeed in the country with her, then they said they were sending her passport back to her so she may redo the medical exam and that the case was going to be complete in a couple weeks. I am not sure of this timing was a coincidence or if me visiting her was connected to the progression of the case, I am just grateful for the visa being issued.

 

I would like to say that this was very heavy upon my mental health and my heart, but we remained patient and resilient, we relied upon God first and foremost, we remained optimistic and hopeful that we would be together. I know this is so stressful and difficult for you, but very soon you will look back upon this experience and smile knowing that you can be with your loved ones. Keep praying everyday. I hope your visas will be issued soon, God willing.

Congrats Fedi. My husband is from Mali and one of our fondest trips together was Casablanca-Fez-Marrakech. We even visited Volubilis which is close to Fes and it is awesome. I am very happy for you too. We are still waiting but I hope our visa comes soon. I visited my husband 5 times in Mali and 3 times in Europe since our marriage almost 4 years ago. We met in Chicago. I really don't think that embassies care how often we travel. At least processing our case (Dakar,Senegal) does not.  Congrats again. Enjoy your marriage together

Hey Guys.. Any one from Pakistan..do you guys know when embassy requests for second medical exam, do they return our passports as well? And if they do not return our passport then how medical exam is re done without passport?

They will send you your passport back, and ask you to submit it with the new medical exam.

The embassy will email you . take that email to the medical center to redo your medical because it's expired. You don't need your passport again to do the medical.

Hello Everyone! 

Been reading this forum for a while, and, I am in the same boat. My husband had his interview on January 19 ,everything went fine ,they just asked for one document with the passport to turn in the US consulate. We did that and then suddenly they sent us a questionnaire (which is exactly like DS 5355) . Anyways, turned it in again last week. Got status updates for three consecutive days and then it stopped . I am very frustrated. Just dunno how long is the wait!! Reading here helps me go thru a little bit .
