I applied for renew F1 student visa on 10 December 2017 and I applied DS 5355.

There is no update until now

It usually takes the embassy to faster to review the cases for student visas. You should be issued in a month or two.

I applied for green card for my parents last year, they had their interview in the Islamabad, Pakistan on January 3rd, 2018. At the day of interview, they were given the white slip and were told that they will be contacted if anything is needed (all the documents were complete). A week later, I got a request to fill out supplemental questionnaire, which looks like DS-5535, for my dad only. I noticed daily updates to his case after that, for about 5 days and now there is nothing. I know it is a bit too early for me to worry, but I have not seen anyone who got the AP for their parents (1R5) visa category. Anyone have an idea how long it can take? I have waited a long time to apply for them and it is very frustrating.

Unfortunately, I haven’t seen anyone who has received a ds-5535 for petitioning their parents. It’s probably definitely stressful being that your dad received it and not your mom! Did your mom receive her visa?

She has not. Her status also states "Admin Processing". I am assuming she has been held bacak because of my dad's processing. Either way, it is frustrating. I hope this limbo ends soon for all of us.

I would like to ask everyone on this forum to share their experience for non immigrant visas from karachi Consulate. I have been waiting for 120 days after submitting DS 5535, but no response. There are no updates on my case since the interview date(September). Please provide details if anyone have got their Visa after submitting this form. Thank you

I hope so as well! My fiancé been waiting since returning his form the 28th of August. It’s very stressful being apart! I usually go during Christmas and I skipped this Christmas because we don’t know what we need to do and trying not to spend extra money! This form is stressful

Yeah, I heard that too...the budget already is covered for USCIS, DOS, and Embassy consulars
