Yep.. My interview was on 20 sep.. I dont know how long i will have to wait.. Praying hard.. Dying to meet my mother in USA. I haven't seen her since 2013. Filled this questionnaire on 8th November.. Case is stil in AP. Have your husband been contacted for re-medical? Most of the people on this forum.say that medical exam expires in 6 months and embassy email you for a second medical exam. I had one or two updates in october then one in november and two in december.

No calls yet.  I am expecting that call soon, inshallah.

Hi all,

My husband had his interview July 21 and submitted his completed DS-5535 on August 2nd. Our case has been touched about 5 or 6 times since that time with the last file touch being Nov 1st. Tonight I sent an email to both CasaAdminProcess@state.gov and IVCasablanca@state.gov, cc’ing our attorney asking if they could provide an eta to the completion of The additional processing period and to let them know we are still looking forward to his arrival home to us in the United States. Has anyone else been in this process for this length of time? I’m fully expecting his arrival home very soon. If Inknew the date of his arrival this wait could be so easy but it’s the unknown that makes it so challenging.

Hi, my husband is from Mali, and we are going through Dakar. His interview was August 23rd. He submitted his SQFVA in early September, but he has dozens of countries listed as that is his profession (international musician" so he traveled everywhere including dozens of times in US (before me married). In Nov, we offered to send embassies copies of all his professional foreign visas, in/out stamps and whatever may help them to review the form. I was told the form is reviewed in the United States and AP may take up to 18 months! Google as I try I can't find if DS5535 was renewed (it was supposed to expire 11/30/2017). My attorney and I will consider our legal options in the United States if his second medical (and second 1200+ miles interview trip) expire because of this form.

My attorney advised me that marriage visa applications do not have expiration dates like the fiancé visas do. She said the case can continue on a cycle of being returned to USCIS, responded to, and resubmitted until finally approved or a final denial is given.  What did your attorney advise were the legal options?

There are different types of AP and yes in the 2 and a half years I’ve been following immigration, I’ve seen couples sit in AP for years, but with the ds 5535 being new and following cases, we really don’t know. I can’t see AP for ds-5535 (security checks) taking years though, but it is frustrating having to pay medical over and over again. Have anyone contacted their congressman in their state? I’m thinking about reaching out at this point (13 updates since returning the form August 28th)

Tarsha... the answer is simple. Your embassy code (i.e. DKR) and if applying for immigrant visa... year i.e. 2014 then 500 plus julian day of the month... i.e. 502 for Jan 2 or 865 for Dec 31 plus case number of the day from 001 to xxx (however many cases NVC sent them on that day).  My case has been in volleyball between DOS and USCIS. The latter has no problem. The former decided we are the poster children for their interpretation of their country's policies and we are forced to produce documents over and above what any normal person should. So anyways, if you are DKR2014866003 ( you are the third case NVC approved on day 366 of year 2014 (and it was leap).  Me and my handsome fella in our pic have been in this limbo in 3.5 years and have 8 countries clocked trying to be married since we married almost 4 years ago and knew each other for 6. We are not needy, we are upper middle class in the United States.  Walk your cases up an down. The embassy in question takes forever to approve any case (from what I see going up and down in ceac). Ceac has no language that I can not check any other case number, since I don''t have it's PII. Combine this with visas issued bulletin https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-statistics/immigrant-visa-statistics/monthly-immigrant-visa-issuances.html and you'll see how IV's trickle through the embassy you are stuck through. The codes work for any embassy. The algorithm is the same. My congresswoman was interested (but then she became a senator), and my senator is more interested in illegals than legal citizen or her husband who pays US taxes on his foreign earnings because he married me, American. His poor foreign country did not decide to tax me because I married him

Here is the expected response that I received from the consulate inquiry I made last night:

Dear Madam,

Thank you for your e-mail inquiry.  Your husband’s case is still undergoing necessary administrative processing. We know the wait can be frustrating,  however, since this processing takes place outside of our office, we have no control over the length of time it will take.  Please rest assured that we will notify your husband as soon as the processing is complete and we can move forward with his case.

That is very interesting...especially the breakdown of the case number.

I do have a question for anyone that can answer. On the form it asks if the beneficiary has any children? Our reply was yes and we listed the child on the form. She will not be traveling with him, but on ceac our results comes back with two cases. One of the cases says administrative processing and the other says ready. Now, is the ready his daughter’s part of the case? The last update for the administrative processing (case number plus 01) was January 8th and the one that states ready (case number plus 02) was updated the 8th as well and and also today. I’m just confused with what is going on
