Okay guys, so is inquiring through the consulate’s email the only way to reach out to them and get my husband’s passport back so he can travel for work? Because I’ve inquired in the beginning of our waiting game (7 months in Ds5535) but I never got a response.

My question are, how can I request for my husband’s passport back? And how long will it take until he receives it?

At this point, I just don’t want my husband to stop his life waiting for this. He needs to travel to make a living!

You can always request to get your passport back it takes 10 to 15 days to get passport.

I have  been a reader of this forum and has gotten alot of information by reading  I need to ask  a question about My case. I am on EB3 interview was Mar 25th at ISB, VO was satisfied  kept our passports and told me he will send a questionnaire after a week and I should respond and he will have to review more. I asked him how long would it take and he said couple of months. the email was about DS5535  have had 2 updates on CEAC after form submission. can any one tell me how  long I am looking at in terms of the time line ?

Same question I did ask at end of my interview and co replied that it can be few months.

as per other members here case date update doesnt guarantee anything. someone has multiple case date update in 8 months and is still in AP . it only show they are doing something.

Be careful! The purpose of the Ds-5535 is to look into travel history amongst other things. Will his travel delay or require another Ds-5535?

I am not sure, but I have been wondering about this for a while now. Please share your findings.

Same response as congressman inquiry :

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your recent inquiry regarding your pending visa case. the case is still undergoing administrative processing, and unfortunately we cannot determine precisely how long it will take to complete this process.  We realize that these extended time periods cause frustration to many individuals and we are sensitive to the fact that one of the principal purposes of the immigrant visa program is to re-unite families.  Nonetheless, Consulate General Casablanca, like all U.S. embassies and consulates, must adjudicate visas in accordance with the provisions of the law, and, in some cases, this involves extensive administrative processing.

It is not uncommon for this procedure to take longer depending on the volume of cases the Department is working on. We will contact you immediately upon completion in order to finalize the visa application process.  Please be assured that Consulate General Casablanca and the Department of State are aware of your concerns and will do all we can to see that the visa is adjudicated as soon as the processing of your application has been completed.

I hope that this information is helpful.

Regards,

It is a form letter, insert the name and address and job done, I understand they have 3 days to respond to a Congressional inquiry.
