Updates are always a good sign that they are working on your case.  Unfortunately it would still be hard to tell when the AP would be complete.   We had lots of updates in the first few months.  Some back to back some days or weeks apart with no inquiries sent.   Now we are going on month 6 and it only updates if we inquire.

I do not use the email for the questionnaire as it states its only for the questionnaire and any other correspondence sent to that email will not be read.   All inquires should be done through here https://pk.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visa-inquiries/ or through Senator and Congressman.

If I ask a specific question like "is the embassy waiting on any information from me" or "confirmation that ds-5535 was received" I get a more detailed response answering my question.   If I ask the status of my case I get the generic reply.

That depends on what you want them to do, they will get an answer as to what is happening with your case.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Is it ok if call my wife and my baby to visit me for three months during this time? hope it will not complicate anything?

No, it's better you and your wife see each other again. And ofcourse your baby.

Live your life. Inshallah everything will be alright. It takes time...unfortunately.

It won't affect your case but rather help.
