Isn t it ironic that "Faith", Islam and "Alah" are the very reason behind the Ds-5535? Again I hope I am wrong, but the Man in charge said: "…A complete shutdown of Muslims….etc". He attempted a Ban on all Muslim Countries, but had to narrow it down. Very Sad how religion can be the root of a lot of evil on this planet. When religion should bring peace and justice to all humanity regardless or nationality, faith, gender, color, ethnicity etc…. I have great respect for all religions, but have zero tolerance nor respect for extremism in any religion, shape or form. Let us hop the Man finds it in his heart and allow our loved ones to come home. He is our only hope and the greater Powers too, of course. Be it Alah, Krishna, Jesus, Buddha or Pegasus.

Well i'm christian with a clear christian name. I'm also on 221g (DS5535) and missed my opportunity in california in march for reasons I ignore.

It's more about your country than your religion i'd say.

Lebanon is Majority Muslim. Some can change their names to pass for Christians iot get Visas. It was done in the past in Egypt and Jordan. DHS is aware and give the Ds form to ensure the names are legit.

What opportunity you missed in California?

What opportunity you missed in California?

A one-week visit to stanford university and several companies in silicon valley, which I worked for a whole semester in order to get invited.

They gave me the DS5535 and I never heard back. No updates, nothing. I have the same name on all my passports since I was born. Christian since birth. Official invitation from stanford university. Not a single reason to delay my visa. Yet, they still delayed mine and issued my teammate's visa in less than 24hrs.

Hi Everyone,

So my father in law had his Ir-5 interview, petitioned by my husband, last year Feb 2018. He was given DS-5535 a day after the interview. They told him he doesn't need to submit any additional documentation. Within the last year, we were not requested to provide any updated documentation.

We contacted our senator for a case update when we reached the one year AP mark on Feb 2019.

In the last 2 weeks, CEAC showed multiple updates. Today we received an email that my father in law has been requested to appear for a re-interview on April 24, 2019 and to print this letter as an appointment letter. The letter does not state if he needs to bring any updated documentation.

So anyone have any input what this can mean?

Should we be proactive and have him do another medical, updated documents? If so, which ones?

That is great news! Thank you as this gives me and others hope that we direly need these days.

Based on Casablanca's Consulate requirements, he will need the following:

1- New Medical.

2- Recent Taxes (2018).

3- New Police and Court Clearances.

I highly recommend, you receive written requirements from the respective Consulate. Otherwise, he might face more delays. Actually, huge delays if he must submit something via mail and or CEAC. Please avoid any delays at all, the system is slower than ever already. There are some waiting for over a year after submitting missing documents and without the Ds-form.

Best of Luck to you and to us all!

Thank you for your input! I think we will email the embassy asking them what needs to be brought to the second interview. I have the same thought as you that if he needs to submit something (which he will 100% as its been over a year since he's been in AP) it will cause even more delays. I wish they had notified us int he re-interview email. But oh well. Hopefully we will have good news soon!

Perhaps, Standford can reach out to the Consulate, Senate or Congress on your behalf.

I would also, recommend you contacting your consulate daily even if they do not answer.

In other words, you must remain proactive, as there is a possibility your Visa is put aside to either die or have you

give up altogether. Read around the net and you will realize that USCIS and DHS officials have clearly stated this Form is nothing

less that a Tactic to slow or stop Visits and Immigration from Certain parts of the world and of Some of certain Faith.

Best of luck and do not give up.

I hope I am wrong, but could it be that clear instructions are not given intentionally to cause even more delays?

Again, I am not pointing fingers nor accusing anyone and do hope I am wrong.

Whoever thinks ds5535 is truly for background check is missing out alot. Background check has always existed in all embassies around the world. You don't need 6+ months to check on a person's ###### background.

They just want to **** with you my friend out of hateful and vengeful feelings for our countries.

There is no hate nor vengeful feelings here. A policy in place to curve, slowdown or limit Legal Immigration of certain of certain Faith. The people implementing the policies are good people who s hands are tied by a handful in charge. Officials in DHS and USCIS have admitted the Ds form is jus a Backdoor Ban. Read around the net. Why? I hope I am wrong, but certain promised and must deliver to win again. Anytime I feel this could be the reason behind the major delays, I pray the system proves me wrong and that our loved ones come home soon. I must use the word "delays" carefully. Because people have been waiting since May 2017. Only one digit percentages have come thru the Ds- dilemma. Again, I pray and hope the system proves me wrong and shows us statistics on how well this form has worked, because the article I linked above shows the previous Vetting system worked just fine and there is no need for the Ds-5535. Please read above :)
