Not everyone has to go through it.

But be on a look out. If they require another interview then they will reach out to your husband. Hope things workout for you very soon  and with ease ❤

Thank youuuu. All the best to you. 🙏

You think it is simple.

I think that vast majority of our cases here are pretty simple - the common "complication" in the past couple of years seems to be the country our spouse/fiancé was born in.

I think it has nothing to with our names and counties our relatives have visited or lived in.  All of this is happening because of current US administration (Trump). He promised to curb immigration and do extreme vetting of everyone coming to US. We only hear in the media about illegal immigration but the fact is that they have made legal immigration process much more harder than ever before.  Their goal is to reduce the number of immigrants coming to US legally and they are slowing down the process to do exactly that. No background and AP should take this long. This Administrative Process is just to slow down legal immigration and discourage people from applying. Please reach out to your Congressman and other local politicians. Get your voice heard.

DS-5535 was created after direct orders from the President Of United States.......

In a May 4, 2017 Federal Register notice [82 FR 20956], the Department of State (DOS) proposed creating a new form to standardize the collection of additional information from immigrant and nonimmigrant visa applicants "who have been determined to warrant additional scrutiny in connection with terrorism or other national security-related visa ineligibilities." The form was designated as Form DS-5535, Supplemental Questions for Visa Applicants. In the Federal Register notice, DOS:

we are the same age.

never married before, neither have kids.

we never traveled to other countries, except for me going to morocco to see him 9x.

we have been married for 2 years.

my husband does film making and i work in a medical facility.

we met in a group on Facebook called worldwide hippies.

everytime I've visited, i have stayed at his parent's home.

we talk almost 24/7 and video chat most of that time. we sent several screenshots of video calls lasting 18+ hours over the years.

we have the same religion.

i make double the necessary amount to sponsor him alone.

we never had an rfe. never had a checklist.

we frontloaded our petition.

he took a binder very neatly arranged with everything needed and more to his interview.

i really can't see how it's not simple.

but my husband's name is Mohammed.

many people think this is why he got the form.

Umar stated the reasons when the additional form is used, by definition not a simple case.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

yes. I've read this several times. what would signal a red flag for a guy who never travels, spends his days filming and skateboarding? i guess probably his religion, region, and name. he is from casablanca, morocco. they had terrorist bombings like in 2003 and 2 young ladies were murdered in the mountains in morocco more recently.

moroccans have been getting the ds5535 like c r a z y. i don't necessarily disagree with the form being used. i just feel that our case is simple and I'm hoping it will be quickly processed.

Agreed. My fiancé is a Norwegian citizen, Christian, but was born in Iran - other than that we have no red flags or complications. We were given the DS5535 back in September 2018. Absolutely no word from the embassy since then.
