I was talking about "Writ of Mandamous". You basically file a law suit against the government to make a decision within 60 days. But it could be approved or denied within 60 days. Most people who file say that it works and they got approved.

Can you do that if you've waited a year or longer? What's considered the 'right' time?

Yeah it's recommend to wait at least a year before filling WOM.  You file it with federal government which in turn asks the immigration department to make a decision within 60 days on your case. That decision could be approved or denied. As long as there are no major issues with your case then it normally gets approved but you never know.

Following this forum from jan 2018.

Its been 14 months in AP and was asked to fill the questionnaire. I had my interview in jan18 2018. My wife and two infants are us citizens. I dont have any criminal history. My case is as simple as it could be. Completed all the documents.my name alhamdulillah starts with Mohammad and i had visited my elder sister in dubai for 15 days. What more proofs and background check they need?  14 months isnt enough? I wasnt near my wife on both occasions my kids were born in dallas. Mumbai embassy always reply with same content. This is incomprehensible in any extent. My wife needs me. We have gone through alot in these 14 months alhamdulillah still so grateful to allah,  he bestowed us with kids. I am thinking to go for Writ of Mandamous. May allah guide us with right decisions. Best wishes to everyone here. Please remember us in duas.

Simple cases are not given a DS 5535

I was referring to your comment about simple cases.

I too am at the verge of filing WOM , but want to wait if we know of a limit of the wait. We were told all cases would be resolved by 9 months to 12 months timeframe by embasssy, but now since people are waiting for over 20 months, it makes me think if they will even cross 24 months. I am just not able to understand how can Washington not be considerate to the families of US citizens and dragging the case beyond any reasonable time-frame.

Hi everyone, update on our case.

Second interview done on Feb 25,2019. Exactly 1 year and 5 days the second interview. Yes it was a Stokes, I was sent into a little cubicle away from my husband. I had 2 different women come in and talk to me. The first one was very pleasant and pretty much wrote down the time frame of our relationship and marriage. Very nice. The second one was a whole lot more ruder. In fact she flat out called me a liar saying that it was a visa fraud he was wanting. I was like really? Why would he want to scam me when in 3 years he will be a citizen in Spain? Um doesn't make sense does? Anyways we conversed for over an hour.

Still no result, last update was 2 days after the second interview. If a NOIR/NOID is issued, I'm really for battle. Next step will be immigration court and have them decide.

Keep us in your prayers. This

Hello everyone, I have been praying for all of us.

Does anyone have an idea of when you are asked to go to another interview? When is it most likely? I’m worried my husband has to do another interview :(

Not everyone has to go through it.

But be on a look out. If they require another interview then they will reach out to your husband. Hope things workout for you very soon  and with ease ❤

You think it is simple.
