Mubarak hu. I'm  very happy for you. Just one question. Did the embassy also ask you for new fingerprints and DS-260? I knew they asked new pics and medical. Thank you.

No they didnt ask for new fingerprints. They only requested me for updated medical and pics. Thanks a lot. Good luck to u

Good evening everyone,

So I haven't given any updates recently, not since news of my husband's (Moroccan citizen) IR1 visa approval. He moved here from Spain December 19th, so we were able to spend the holidays with family. We waited , wrote and called regarding his social security card (and green card), as he wanted to start working asap, but didn't that didn't get us anywhere. We had been told that the social security card would arrive about 3 weeks after his entry into the US, so after 3 weeks, he went to the SS Card office with his passport, where the agent was able to see his immigration info, and told him - no, Homeland Security had NOT requested a social security number for him (as we had requested on the visa application about TWO YEARS AGO)... you can imagine our reaction. So the agent filed for him. At any rate, about a week or so later, we received both the green card and the social security card in the regular mail.

Anyway, just to remind you that DS5535 "victims" do get approved, get their green cards and all... Be patient - we started our process in spring of 2016, DS5535 AP from Jan 18 to Aug 18... good luck to you all!

October 2011: Met in Spain

2012-2014: Video chat + visas + visits and vacations = we made it through!

June 2014: Moved to Spain, got engaged

December 31, 2015: got married

April 20, 2016: sent I130 package

May 2, 2016: package received in Chicago Lockbox - - - 12 days for delivery!! Don't use TNT couriers!!

May 2nd or 5th, 2016: email NOA1... accepted and sent to.... NEBRASKA

And now.... breeeeeeathe..... be like water my friend....

October 26th, 2016: NOA2 [We had waited almost 6 months. Received notification from the phone app, never got an email.]

November 9th 2016: USCIS sent the petition to NVC (app notification) [waited 2 weeks after approval for this]

November 25th 2016: NVC received and created account for our petition [waited 16 days after USCIS sent it, for NVC to acknowledge receipt]

Dec 1st 2016: Chose agent online DS261 [a few days later than it could've been since the above NVC email went to SPAM!]

Dec 6th 2016: Case available for paying fees. That was fast, I think! 5 days!

Took a long time to get package out because... life... and husband's family in Morocco had to travel to get police document.

Feb 20th 2017: Scan date at NVC, received weird email.

April 28th 2017: CHECKLIST. Moroccans are required to send a Court Report regardless of Police Record status. My husband had to go back to Morocco to get it in person. Also, NVC wants a 2016 tax return now that is 2017. My bad.

September 15th 2017: 2nd Scan Date at NVC. Sent for document review October 20th.

Nov 10th 2017: Email requesting document be brought to interview. Will schedule interview.

Case complete date??: TBD :clock:.... November 8th!!

Interview date : January 18, 2018!!           Result: Administrative Processing

Embassy called for new medical last week of August. New Medical Sept 10.

Visa ISSUED September 14, 2018.

I hope that all goes well with your second interview.  I hope that you will share about your experience in the Madrid embassy. My husband is also currently living and working in Spain. He is from a banned country and we are anxious about his interview which should be scheduled there soon. I really hope you all get good news this time!

Hello guys. Finally a long tough journey came to an end. I got my visa today. Thanks to you all and this forum as I have got a chance to talk to so many good people here. We all have helped each other as we are facing the same situation. My visa category is v92. My mother is my petitioner. My interview was on 20th sep 2017. They approved it but later sent me Ds5535 in email. It took 16 months and then in January 2019 I got an email for an updated medical and after 15 days of medical submission, I have finally received my visa. I have spent 6 years without my mom.. so eager to meet her soon InshaAllah. I can only say that dont lose hope, you will eventually get your visa at a perfect time decided by Allah. I was so depressed in these 16 months. I left my studies after interview, my engagement got broken due to some reasons and I was all alone in the darkness. No job, no studies and no support. I kept thinking abt my visa and used to check and stare at my ceac status daily even on weekends. I prayed a lot and Allah finally helped me. Please pray for me. I am praying for u all ..may all of you meet your beloved people soon ameen. Its always a light at the end of a tunnel.Cheers and Good luck.

Congrats once again! Very happy for you!

Thanks! His initial interview was on February 20,2018. A year and 5 days later they ask for a second interview. I am sure it's because of his travels. He is Pakistani and has been living and working in Spain for 10 years. He is a permanent resident of Spain. They originally kept his passport but we had to request it back because of his work. This will be my 5th trip to see him. Its making me crazy.

Hey! How did you request for his passport back? My husband has to travel for work and he hasn’t been able to because the consulate had his passport. We were thinking about requesting for it but we’re afraid they will delay our process even more 😭

You can request for passport it's not effect on visa process  (administrative processing ).when administrative processing complete they ask you to submit again
