Update:  There is no darn update. 🤬😠. We have been waiting 18 months since my husband’s last interview. We have seen so many “file touches” over that time that I have lost count. We have emailed for a status once every four months. The Consulate stopped responding to my emails after we have been waiting in AP for a year. We got our Senator involved who has been willing to make two inquiries since that time. Both times they keep telling the Senator we need to wait, but no explanation why we are waiting.  The last email from the Moroccan Consulate said it can take anywhere from 6-12 months to get through DS5535 and Additional Proccessing, never mind the fact that we have been waiting 18 months already. The Senator said she will address the expected wait time frame that they mentioned in their email response to her when she follows up again in February.  Originally she said she would follow up in 90 days, but I pushed for sooner. Our attorney tells us there is nothing we can do but wait, so now I’m wondering why I bothered to pay her for her services. She has been useless to us. We have been together since 2010, and we married in 2014. I have flown to be with him 14 times. We have traveled to another country together once on vacation. We have insurance, rental agreements, joint bills, and bank accounts together.  We have multiple affidavits from people supporting us, attesting to our relationship, including my daughter. This AP makes no sense!!  My husband passes every darn background check that they have put him through, but we are still playing their waiting game with absolutley no explanation why. This has got to change!  There must be a way to get past this point, I just haven’t figured out how or who the magic person is that I need to speak with to get my husband home with me finally. So if someone knows I would be grateful if you could share your wisdom.

Did you ask your lawyer about possibly filing a writ of mandamus?

No. It’s in the back of my mind. I’m nervous to spend thousands more on a new fee ( this isn’t included in our attorney’s original fee) to file this order only to have them be pissed off that I cornered them with this legal action and just deny it out of spite. Which they certainly could do since ultimately it is still their decision even if the judge says to them you are commanded to render your decision.  I have waited this long without filing this order in hopes that our patience would pay off.  The Senator told me 18 months isn’t really that long to wait, as she is following up on cases where people have been waiting for years!!

It is frustrating indeed. My congressman’s immigration department case handler today finally told me that she had a response 20 days ago and she forgot to tell me that. Now what can I say here as I had contacted her in the past too.  Her response was “.. well you have to wait more as case is in AP sir. That is what I got in the letter from them. I have sent u a copy of the letter too.” I asked her if she would do a re inquiry in a few months and she said sure and to submit the request over again. I will be reaching out to the senator in 60 days now. I wish there was more debate on this topic as family unity plays a vital role in immigration and well being of families.

The whole process I am sure has impact on everyone’s personal life for those who go thru it. I need my parents the most right now to get our and my parents living life style better as we are working parents and would love to have our kids grow up around them. And thAt is just the gist of it. I had to pause my masters and what not and having parents all depressed worries you and it’s hard to focus at times. I am sure every one here waiting for their love one goes thru the same pain or maybe even more. All we can do is have hope and stay positive. The wait will end one day I am sure and when it does for those that are waiting, they will be smiling. :)

Hey Guys. Does anybody know after how many days embassy contacts us or issue a visa? I submitted my 2nd fresh medical exam on wednesday as per their request. Anybody please share your experience. I m from Islamabad, Pakistan.

They should issue it on its own or they might schedule another interview. Either way it shouldnt take long. But I was reading a post where you mentioned waiting for ur father's medical. Is he the principal applicant? Because if he is then u might have to wait for him to complete his medical.  Either way your waiting journey will come to an end soon IA. Them requesting this stuff means they want to issue visa. Its just a few more days. Good luck.

Okay thanks.. but they never notified us of who is the principal applicant. They contacted me when they requested for another medical. Are you sure that they wont issue me visa until my father's med gets completed? Lets see what happens. I didn't get any update after I submitted medical and visa photos. Yes hoping for the best. Ameen.

@ShazyyoAll you need is copy of original I-130 in order to figure out who the primary applicant is. If your dad is the primary application then you might have to wait till his medical is processed.
