I hope we all get good news soon. I am very hopeful but the length of wait scares me...

I agree...I don't know if I understood correctly but the french speaking poster posted a status that says the case application was cancelled because of the embassy not getting required documents after a year.   The poster believes that the ds5535 was received due to an auto response.  I'm not sure if other documents were requested but it kind of alarmed me.  If people wait a year for AP to complete but the entire time the embassy didn't really receive what was sent and returns the case that is a nightmare.  Especially since it is impossible to get an embassy like Islamabad to respond.

After one year, CEAC automatically shows "refused". If u contact the embassy, they put it back in administrative processing. The person ur talking about, was his status showing refused or was his case sent back to nvc?

Its the page before this one.  I'm not sure. This is what was posted translated in english:

Section 203 (g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act requires that your registration be canceled and that any petition approved on your behalf be canceled if you do not apply for an immigrant visa within one year. year from notification.

You were informed of this requirement more than a year ago, but we have not received a response from you since then. As a result, your visa application has been canceled and any petitions approved on your behalf have also been canceled.

Your application can be reinstated and any application re-evaluated if, within one year, you can establish that your non-formalization of your immigrant visa application was due to circumstances beyond your control. Please provide a written statement to the embassy or consulate describing the circumstances beyond your control and indicating that you still wish to respond to this visa application.
For more information, please visit TRAVEL.STATE.GOV.
Please help me, I just received this message from the Embassy. I did not understand anything.

I'm not sure what it says on CEAC but I asked if they confirmed that the embassy received the ds5535 this was their response:

"Yes I received an email from the host they confirmed the receipt of DS5535 he even called me on the phone because I have to send the form several times."

Anyone who fill form ds 5535 questionnaire and got her/his Visa successfully?and what is the average timefor form ds 5535 questionnaire fill to decision on visa application?

I haven't heard of anyone, at least specifically here on VJ, who have filled out the DS5535 and received their visa. There are a few on here that have been waiting for close to a year now.

Does anyone have any insight as to why the long wait times after filling out the DS5535? I'm thinking not enough staff to handle the workload, or possibly uncooperative countries who do not openly supply the info on the visa applicant the embassy is looking for for vetting purposes....or a combination of all of that and more.

Anyways, here's to hoping 2019 will see more visa approvals for those of us waiting through this frustrating process.

I-129F Sent: 12/29/17

I-129F NOA 1: 1/4/18

I-129F NOA 2: 7/9/18

NVC Received: 7/18/18

Consulate Received: 8/9/18

Packet 3 Received: 8/13/18

*Visitor's visa interview: December 2016, called back by embassy for second interview on same visa application in January 2019 - visitor's visa finally issued May 2019.

*Fiance visa placed in administrative processing September 2018.

*Beneficiary's Country: Norway via Iran.

There was one person from visa journey forums , M.R123 who got their visa. Her husband was in AP for 16 months. He got his visa in Oct from Islamabad embassy.
