It's because you are pakistani and Muslim. Same thing happened to my fiance.

Husband got the same form from ISL. How many updates did u have on your case (without inquiry)?

My fiance is the guy. They issue it to men mostly. Are you a usc? If so, you have every right to inquire

July 30th so it's been over 60 days. I've reached out to my senator and he is going to try and see what he can do. I am hopeful.

(1) Have you heard of any case DS-5535 form was requested for applicants who are dependents like F-2 or J-2.

 

(2) Has anyone tried some other visa type after being hold-off by this DS-5535 process? If so, how did it turn out in the end?

He can't apply for visitor visa while he is in the process of an immigrant visa
