We all here on this forum have filled that form. Nobody of us knows when the security clearance gets done... It all depends on the case category and luck. Some of us have got visas and others are still waiting.. I'm waiting since 1 year after my interview. My passport is in embassy. Dont worry. Stay patient and all we can do is keep praying and hoping for the best

Hello everyone,

My husband's case has been in AP for over a year now, and today his case got an update and his status changed from AP to "Expiring Soon". Has anyone experienced this before?

Hello,

I've never come across such status update. I looked it up on this link:

https://jp.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/ceac-status-check-iv-k/

Were you asked to submit or complete something and you forgot? Have you been contacting the embassy throughout the year?!

I was never asked to submit anything after the interview. I have been emailing the embassy about my case status every few weeks or so. Last time I emailed was on July 31st.

Have you ever received a reply from them?

For me whenever I email them, the case status updates with the date and a lot of times they don't reply.

Yes, they have almost always replied to me with the same message which all of us get that it is under AP ... bla bla

And the date always changed whenever they replied to me.

The status change to Expiring soon is immaterial. As long as you are communicating with your embassy and they are telling you are in AP,  you are fine. I think DOS has some algorithm that tells them case is overdue. My hubby id DKR20155509015 (no PII involved). Given this case number someone can tell me the embassy we are going through and the exact case number and the day we filled. Go strong and educate ourselves. The answer is in google search.

Hello everybody,

I applied on September 20th in Casablanca for a B1 Visa in order to be in October in the USA. But the officier said to me that he will send me an e-mail with the form DS5535. I got it at the same day. on September 21st I sent it back. still now there is no update for my case (while another applicant who got the form at the same day as me, got an update on 21st).

1) are the B1 types  threated as an immigrant visas or is there a chance to be speeded up ?

2) I read about cases with DS 5535 who have been approved after less than 2 weeks, but they were not in Casablanca. I don't know if in casablanca is any chance or if someone got approved in such time or not ?

3) I travel a lot across Europe, can that be seen as a positive point to speed my case ?

thank you

Guys, at the end of the questionnaire there is a expiration date. Could some tell me what that date is for?

I believe that's the deadline to turn the form in.

I am a naturalized US citizen waiting my Moroccan fiancee's i129f visa. Applied Feb 2017. She has been in AP since Oct 2017

*UPDATE* Fiancee received i-129f visa and returned passport Nov 2018. 411 days of AP.
