Hey everyone,

My fiancé had an interview in April 26 and she was asked to email ds-5355 form to the counselor. We had only one update in June 1st. She is from Iraq and she is applying from Lebanon. Is Iraq from the bam countries?? Are there people like us from Lebanon facing the same difficulties and is there any solution for this big problem??? Sorry for the too many questions but we are just like became addicted for checking the email and the website for any update.

Thanks in advance

iraq its not included .. but you can do start call and email them every 3-4 days asking for any update ..

I have a question for you guys. Has anyone been asked to give the DS-5535 in word format? Meaning that you have to copy and past the question and than answer them. Not on the form.

Thats what my husband was asked. We were sent the form via email but asked to respond in word format

Hi - yes, my fiancee (k1 visa / casablanca morocco) had to fill hers out in word format (copied and pasted from an email). Her interview was in Oct 2017, 2 days later she returned the DS5535 in word format... no updates on our case since then.

I am so very pleased to say...

VISA:  ISSUED

I checked CEAC today since my husband had his medical (was only 4 days ago) and even though we knew/hoped it was coming along soon, it still took my breath away. Tears in my eyes. Poor guy thought something terrible happened when I called him because I was hysterical.

We are so relieved. Only took about 2 years and 5 months...  no problem!! :clock: :ranting:

Congrats!

The 'banned' countries is just a formality. In part, all the non-european countries are going through extreme vetting. I think it's easier if my fiancee was outright banned instead of being in a perpetual hold. At least then we have a definitive answer and can plan our future. We've been in AP now for 51 weeks.

I am a naturalized US citizen waiting my Moroccan fiancee's i129f visa. Applied Feb 2017. She has been in AP since Oct 2017

*UPDATE* Fiancee received i-129f visa and returned passport Nov 2018. 411 days of AP.

Please feel free to add your information to the spreadsheet below. It may help us with extra data points for those under extreme vetting. Please do not add personal info as the document is public. Do not edit any other info except your own.

101 Days  passed ..but no update .. After the interview my case just update only 3 times...last  time it was updated on 10 july..since no update

i know you are frustrated but in your situation there is things you need to consider

1 - Islamabad embassy it count very busy

2- the kind of visa you are applying its f-4 (( thats mean they have a cir-ten number ti issued every year ))

3- AP some cases around 20% of them will take around 3-6 month you are 100 day thats mean around 3 and half month

so hold on its coming
