Yes I emailed 2 or 3 time but their answer is : my case is under administrative process and the can not predict the specific time just wait and wait ...

Yes! That's the answer we get too. I was reading on a lawyer's website that AP might take 2 or more years. It freaked me out so much that I couldn't sleep that night. :( I hope it's not true for us here but that endless waiting is a killer.

Same here. Waiting since September 20th 2017#Pakistan

Also here, reached 10 months from interview just yesterday.

You gotta admit AP is a pretty effective scheme for keeping a group of people out of a country: you aren't getting a VISA and can't apply for another one at the same time.

In my case It was just a B1/B2 visa I applied for to visit the US along with some friends during my stay here in Canada as a Master's student so it turned out to be just a disappointment; but I do feel sorry for all the family reunions and marriages hijaked by this cryptic vetting process.  Stay strong people!

But people are getting visas after this ds 5535 form. I am sure our turn will come soon. Which country did you applied from?

It's been 6 months since the interview. Me and spouse went to the Embassy to stamp L1s renewals and got the 5535 form. We visited Iran as part of a Central Asia trip so we assume it is because of that.

We have not been able to return to our home, had to finally vacate our apartment after paying rent in San Francisco for 5 months. Still working remotely for my company but very tough. Our things are still in the US and trying to move them back to Argentina where we live now.

Very unfair and cruel. We have both been remarkable citizens everywhere we visited, been to more than 80 countries, not just Iran (Persia),which is beautiful by the way.

Still hoping we can go back to the US, a country we love so much,

Sorry to know you are in this stressful situation..I am in same boat....came to India for family emergency and  went for h1b renewal, was asked to fill up 5535  and waiting since 3.5 months with no updates.....had to vacate my US apartment and give away car.

worst part my employer not letting me work from india so ...don't know how long can I survive

looks like average wait time is 1 year for 5535 approvals.

I'm glad you had a nice visit to Iran. It's not fair your visa request is not going through just because you had a travel history to one of the banned countries. I cannot imagine how long would it take for my husband who's born in Iran :( It's been 6 months since the interview for us too.

Please keep us updated here. I am also from Iran and dual citizen and more than 8 months in AP, and no single update. It is really frustrating.

I have been following this thread for a while now as my fiancé is from Iran, but is now a citizen of Norway. He’s been in administrative processing now for 19 months for a visitors visa to see me here in the US. We are waiting for our fiancé visa to be approved and now I’m worried the same thing will happen at his embassy interview, and he’ll be stuck in administrative processing again. I’ve gotten my state representatives involved, but they haven’t been able to do much of anything. I agree, it’s very frustrating. I’m hoping and praying for all of us, that we will soon be able to have our fiancés and spouses home with us soon. ❤️❤️❤️

19 months!!!!!! OMG!!!! hope we all hear something soon. I see people here in VS when they are dual citizen they get the visa right away, but I think I wasn't luck enough and now am in AP. We have involved them as well, but as you said they couldn't do anything.

We just have to stay positive and remember this won’t last forever - we’ll all hear something eventually. In the meantime, it’s definitley a test of patience!

Our situation was the same. I don't want to scare you but my husband also applied for visitor visa on August 2016. They put him on AP after interview with 221g form (temporary rejection). Then I applied for his immigrant visa in January 2017. He had the interview one year later in January 2018. While I thought the visitor visa was cancelled automatically, we received an email from the embassy after 19 months requesting for more info. We replied back that he's not eligible for non-immigrant visa anymore since he's in the process for the immigrant visa! They said they will cancel the non immigrant visa request but to my surprise the case is still on AP!!!

Oh wow, ok, so he had his interview for the spousal visa this past January, but they've had him in AP since then even though he was in AP previously for 19 months for the visitor's visa?

I don't really have any hope right now that my fiancé's visitor's visa will be approved at this point, just hoping there won't be another long stretch of AP after his interview for our fiancé visa.

Yes exactly! I was hoping the Security check they’re doing while the case was on AP would be finished and by the time he goes to his immigrant visa interview, he’s cleared and gets the visa soon! But that was not the case :(
