Well it was cr1 but we been married for more then 2 years so ir1. But on my profile online it still says cr1?? Any idea why

Ours started as a CR1 and changed automatically to an IR1after our 2nd anniversary, while it was either at NVC or at the embassy.

If yours hasn't be SURE to let them know because you don't want to enter the US with a CR1 and then have to fix it. CR1 couples have to go through another process to remove conditions from the visa.

October 2011: Met in Spain

2012-2014: Video chat + visas + visits and vacations = we made it through!

June 2014: Moved to Spain, got engaged

December 31, 2015: got married

April 20, 2016: sent I130 package

May 2, 2016: package received in Chicago Lockbox - - - 12 days for delivery!! Don't use TNT couriers!!

May 2nd or 5th, 2016: email NOA1... accepted and sent to.... NEBRASKA

And now.... breeeeeeathe..... be like water my friend....

October 26th, 2016: NOA2 [We had waited almost 6 months. Received notification from the phone app, never got an email.]

November 9th 2016: USCIS sent the petition to NVC (app notification) [waited 2 weeks after approval for this]

November 25th 2016: NVC received and created account for our petition [waited 16 days after USCIS sent it, for NVC to acknowledge receipt]

Dec 1st 2016: Chose agent online DS261 [a few days later than it could've been since the above NVC email went to SPAM!]

Dec 6th 2016: Case available for paying fees. That was fast, I think! 5 days!

Took a long time to get package out because... life... and husband's family in Morocco had to travel to get police document.

Feb 20th 2017: Scan date at NVC, received weird email.

April 28th 2017: CHECKLIST. Moroccans are required to send a Court Report regardless of Police Record status. My husband had to go back to Morocco to get it in person. Also, NVC wants a 2016 tax return now that is 2017. My bad.

September 15th 2017: 2nd Scan Date at NVC. Sent for document review October 20th.

Nov 10th 2017: Email requesting document be brought to interview. Will schedule interview.

Case complete date??: TBD :clock:.... November 8th!!

Interview date : January 18, 2018!!           Result: Administrative Processing

Embassy called for new medical last week of August. New Medical Sept 10.

Visa ISSUED September 14, 2018.

Hello @YoungPadawan sorry to answer this late no they did not keep he’s passport but when we talked to the lawyer he told us to send it via DHL along with the form DS-5535 that the officer asked by husband to send...I called the consulate today (Juarez) an the lady that answered told me  they had send a report to get an update she said I could continue on calling back but that’s about it :( I will call back maybe Friday but will keep on checking my status I mean after all that’s what I’ve been reading on here that people do just keep checking an wait....

So did you call the consulate (Juarez)? What phone number did you use? Did you call from the US or Mexico?  My husband is still waiting in Mexico and I am here in the US waiting to hear good news...

Remind the embassy you have been married for more than 2 years.

Removing conditions is because CR1 couples are newly married and basically they want to see if you stay together, etc. hence the word conditional.

You won't have to remove those conditions but if you're interested just search "CR1 how to remove conditions."

I'll have to look in my files but I think it was an email attachment, a formal document from NVC maybe, that indicated our type as IR1. It caught my attention and I thought. .. hmm how did it change?

Hi guys,

So here's my journey so far, very similar to most of yours.

I got my O1 visa approved (artist visa) while I was still in New York (where I lived the past 2 years). So I decided to come back to France in order to get it approved at the US embassy in Paris. I had my interview the 8th of February and they ask me to fill the DS 5535 form because I was arrested in 2016 because I fraud the subway (very stupid thing, but I had to tell the agent at the embassy since it's been asked in the DS160 form if you have already been arrested in the US)...

So I submitted the ds 5535 form a few days later on the 12th of February. The website said "Thank you for submitting, we will contact you when the AP is completed, blah blah.." Regarding my point of view, the form was well sent. But when I check the CEAC website, it says last update on 8th of February (so the day of the ITV) and nothing move since 11 weeks now. Almost 3 months...

I'm scared they never received my form. But when I call the embassy, and even DoS, they say my case is under AP and I should wait.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for your replies,

Thanks for your replies,

Try sending them an email to check if they received it or call the NVC to ask them if the embassy received the DS
