Hi all,

Just trying to get some info on how long you had to wait between nvc and embassy receiving. We are currently on week 5 with it being in transit.

Was thinking of getting ahead by booking the medical. Does it cause issues if you do the medical before they receive the petition?

Thanks

If you know for sure it left NVC, then your update thing is simply not working maybe. It takes four days transit. Get on with following the instructions on the consulate website. https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/applying-for-the-visa/

You can contact the embassy here https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/visa-information-services/contact-us-immigrant-visas/u-s-embassy-london-visa-unit-contact-form/

Choose the reason

  • My inquiry concerns immigrant visas and is not covered by information on your website.

because it's the Immigrant Visa Unit that is processing your K1. Always choose Immigrant on your status checker, paying for the visa and such, even though a K1 is non-Immigrant. You need to get to the people processing your case and the non-Immigrant people don't do K1s.

Hi, thanks for the info.

I have contacted the embassy they have not received it and won't do anything until 8 weeks. Just have a worry that the petition is only valid for 4 months which we are 2 months into at this point.

Not too sure what could be holding it up as most people seen to get some sort of notification of arrival within a week or so?

Call the NVC and see what they have to say about it's dispatch and make sure you are using the correct LND number.

How did you contact the embassy? Did you get info from the Immigrant Visa Unit? People have been told weird things when they tried calling on the phone and got routed to the Nonimmigrant Visa Unit.

Look at your photocopy of the petition. Did you put London, United Kingdom as your choice of consulate?

We called the NVC last week and all they are saying is that it was forwarded electronically on the 11th May. I am using the LND case number off the letter we got from the NVC

I contacted the embassy through the contact form on the website and got a response from the visa unit(it didn't specify which) who told me 8 weeks. I was told they don't take calls from the public anymore.

And yes we did select London as the consulate and it also says London as the consulate it was forwarded to fork the nvc
