Passport and G-325A

Hi,

I was reviewing the way people are putting their paperwork together and I noticed that some submitted copies of their spouse (beneficiary) passport (my husband passport is expired and because we were so busy running around DR he did not update his passport.) Are the copies of his passport required when sending the I-130?

Also, I saw that some people also submitted the G-325A form with their documents. I thought the G-325A was eliminated and instead was substituted with the I-130A. I read that with the old version of I-130 you had to send the G-325A so I’m a bit confused.

I’m trying to follow the guides provided on this website which have been very helpful. I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything and have everything correct before I decide to send it.

I would appreciate your feedback. Thank you! :)

The G325a has been replaced by the combination of the new I-130 and I-130a.  You would send a copy of the US Citizen's passport only if there is no other acceptable evidence of US Citizenship available.  Sending copy(s) of pages of passport(s) to show time spent together in the beneficiary's country or a third country is another reason for copies of certain pages of passports, with the petition.

We are also sending in our paperwork soon, and are using I-130 and I-130A.

At least right now I have not come around needing to add my passport (I'm beneficiary) but we will add pages from both of our passports to show visa stamps.

Thank you so much for the clarity it makes sense in reference to the copies of the passport to show proof of my trips. I have my US citizen certificate

Thank you for your time!
