AOS interview schdule with RFE

Hello all,

so my story long short,
married to a USC with F-1 OPT
Oct/2016: Sent all AOS applications (I485,765,130,131)
Feb/2017: Received RFE for financial proof
Apr/2017: Send RFE response (note: no combo card issued due to RFE hold in I-485)
June/2017: Contact senator to see what is going on and I receives a response by Senator's office from USCIS
stating that interview is scheduled in July/2017, but combo card is still on normal processing time due to RFE.
(it was Request for Initial interview, and thus it may take upto 90 days)

Here are my questions:
1) Does the fact that I-485 interview is scheduled mean RFE is resolved to the way that USCIS determines it meets the requirements?
2) I heard that in some cases where marriage-based application get green card faster than combo card when USCIS has available resource
as well as during the interview, USCIS may ask intending immigrant to turn in the combo card or any EAD card,
but my current EAD card will expires early July, or before the interview date, and therefore, I must quit working in order to avoid any immigration issues during the interview??
3) If I get approved for green card either at the interview or after the interview, there is no need to take combo card, correct?

Thank you

1. It's hard to say.. I got scheduled just a few weeks after I contacted tier 2 who said that they are checking the documents I submitted with RFIE and doing a background check on them (?) whatever it means.. maybe it means that they check if the documents are legit

in some way I think that they have to most likely be certain that paperwork is done-ish

2. I don't think they would take your EAD if you don't get approved. I had my interview 2 days ago and they didn't want me give it to them/ present it even though I got approved

Thanks for sharing information.

It sounds that you didn't get approved at the scheduled interview?

Did you have interview at Chicago field office for AOS applications?
