My I-130 petition was received by USCIS on November 17, 2016. Currently, it's assigned to Nebraska. Today marks 208 days since I petition. Am I close to hearing from them or it's still far. It's so frustrating when you called USCIS customer service center and they will tell you that it's still in normal processing times. Mehn it's so not fair....

Unfortunately you are within Nebraskas "normal" processing times.  I was at Nebraska for 6 months.  Well, techincally five until I got transferred to Potomac.  I know people who are still stuck in USCIS phase in Nebraska and their PD dates are in September.  This may be due to some other issue of course, but Nebraksa is notoriously slow at processing cases in general.  As etrangais' title says it all:  Enjoying Nebraska Service Center hell.  Yes, it is very much hell.  Yes it is.  Hang in there!  The wait is always the worst part.

Patience is the most powerful tool.  Me and my husband (petitioner) talked about these when we send our papers that we will never let STRESS go beyond us. Yes, you cant stop yourself from looking the updates. Make yourself busy, try to focus on other things. Check it every 3 days or once a week. Hold yourself. Mind you , it will pop out soon. My husband never check it until I broke the news that were already approved 2 days after, we never received any messages. I only seen it on my case status site. Our PD date was November 8 (Nebraska) and we were approved May 8 (exactly 6 months), received hard copy of NOA 2 after 2 days on the mail and it was forwarded in the NVC on May 18. Then we received ( snail mail ) the welcome letter June 7 with attached AOS invoice , case number and cover sheet. and this is only for my daughter (CR2) and were wondering where's mine? he tried calling the customer service but cant reach them. he was there on the phone for 10 minutes maybe and start seeing his face ( he has no patience waiting) so  I asked him to put down the phone and stop. My husband just send the inquiry form tru email and wait. It will arrived. For now, we will start doing what's in our hand. If your beneficiary has a tourist visa, use it. or you can Go and see your spouse. Or try to find something that will benefit your spouse,  maybe start shopping for a car? Lol. I flew there last week and  help my husband paint the room of my daughter and buy new bed and dressers. if theres no news yet in the NVC , then I will be  there again to arrange the house to prepare for our move. Hang in there. you will have it. Big Hugsss!!!
