The suspect was described by Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., as a white male.

Scalise dragged himself into outfield 

Paul and Rep. Mo Brooks, R-Ala., described the weapon used by the shooter as a rifle. Paul said he heard a first, "isolated" shot followed by a "rapid succession" of 5 to 10 shots.

Capitol Police and Alexandria police officers who responded to the scene exchanged fire with the shooter.

Brooks told CNN that he saw Scalise drag himself from second base into the outfield after he was shot, leaving a trail of blood 10 to 15 yards long. Flake said Scalise lay by himself for "at least 10 minutes," as people could not get to him amid the shooting.

"I wanted to get to him but there were still shots going overhead from both sides," he said.

Rep. Brad Wenstrup of Ohio, a former combat surgeon, applied pressure to the wound, Flake said. Scalise remained coherent throughout.

In a statement, President Donald Trump said that he and Vice President Mike Pence are "monitoring developments closely."

Based on the percentages of white Muslims in the US, the chances of this white middle aged male being a Muslim are quite low, but there is a possibility.

 

I'm really more interested in hearing about how many ccw civilians jumped in to stop this shooting, so far not much being said about that.

Call it whatever you want, profiling does not bother me. I'm a fan of profiling when it comes to law enforcement using it as a tool. It's been proven to be very effective.

They oftentimes get this wrong in the chaos.  Wasn't George Zimmerman identified as a white male by the press?

This will be a hard call for the MOR/MDRs to call terrorism. The guy's not the right color and I bet not the right religion. Furthermore, he used a gun.

Wasn't Zimmerman described as a white male by Trayvon Martin when he called his girlfriend while he was being followed by Zimmerman? During the middle of the night it's very easy to mistake light skin colors.
