Kat And Russ,

One of the first lessons you should learn when dealing with the USCIS is NEVER rely on ANYTHING their "mis"information line tells you... they are 99% of the times wrong.

You can get a better answer here than on the phone with them.

You do not have to change your address with them, because your K-1 visa process is done... your AOS process is a whole different one.

I strongly disagree with the no-changers--here's why.

When you entered the US, you gave an address at the POE, consistant with your paperwork to date. You then moved.

Stop.

You must, by law, notify USCIS of your address change. This is nothing to do with your mailing address, this is a form of location reporting that all non-USCs are supposed to do. Please see form AR-11 (can now be filed online).

By using your new address on the forms, you will (hopefully) change your mailing address with USCIS. This does not satisfy the requirements of AR-11.

I do agree that you shouldn't call 1-800 for anything. :)

Good point, well argued.

OK - I agree. You should file the AR-11.

I thought AR-11 was only for LPRs. I've lived in this country for 8 years, 7 of which were on visas, and nobody ever told me to file an AR-11 before! Looks like I should have done. Oh well, I guess I'll just sit here and wait to be deported.

What address did you give the POE officer? I think that's the address that should govern the decision. If you gave them the address that you're living at now, then there's no issue. However, if POE recorded your old address, then maybe AR-11 needs to be filled out.

Yes, with that new information.

If you updated your address at the POE, you do not need to file AR-11.

I am by no means an expert, but logically, the address that you gave at POE (Your initial entry under your K1 Visa) is what should be current in the event that they need/want to look for you. I don't think the old address on the I-129F matters anymore. So, if the address you gave at POE is in line with what you put on AOS, then I think you're ok!
