So I have noticed in a couple of place that the medical exam is going to involve examination of medical history. The last time I went a doctor was when I was 13 (I am 26 now), have not been to one since. Now I am planning of visiting a doctor and having them open a file, to make sure I am update on my vaccinations and everything. How ever the medical history would start from here.I am worried I wont have a long enough history to take for my medical exam. Is this something to be concerned about? Has anyone else been in my shoes?

Thanks

Do you have a vaccination card or any medical records?

No i dont. I saw a post here that said my doctor could do a blood panel to find out what i have been vaccinated for. As a child i was vaccinated for everything that was expected by the province of Ontario, to be in school.

That sounds costly but I guess you have to do what you have to do. The doctor for medical will be required to do a complete physical and chest x-ray so I think once you've been vaccinated for the majority of items you should be fine but the doctor will be able to tell you for sure.If you don't have them then you'll just have to get them now.

I was raised in Ontario and got a record of my childhood vaccinations from my local health unit -- I would recommend calling the health unit that oversaw your school board. The health unit recorded my vaccines up until the age of 13, so most were there. Some were not routinely administered when I was growing up but are now standard. In those cases, I was offered the vaccines free of charge, as they were retroactively covered by OHIP.  I was also provided with any boosters I needed.

I noticed, though, that I am still missing three vaccinations required for immigration. Does anyone know if they will give you any missing vaccines at the exam, or do you need to have them all taken care of before arriving?

Thanks for you information :) In fact just about the time you posted this I was on the phone with the city of Toronto and I got their immunization department. They had all the information and said they would be mailing it out to me.

I am to am curious to know, if I have to be vaccinated for missing vaccines ahead of the medical or during medical exam.
