now you have to apply online thats the new process. is your NIC valid, because it should allow you to renew your passport. Do you have machinicy passport or manuel passport that was done by hand..make sure your NIC is valid and not expire then you will be able to do it online..

Has Anyone being contacted by the embassy for new medical & after how long after the first medical expiration ?? My medical is expired since 15th November but embassy didn’t contacted me , As per my knowledge they only contact u for new when they are ready to issue the visa , or is it different ? Kindly share your experience .. thanks

I heard from my lawyer, they only ask for medical when ready to issue visa. For k1 visas they expire in 6 months..I'm waiting too..so stressful. It's been 9 months in AP for my Fiance' and me😭

Hello my wife had her interview on the nov 7th and they told her an additional sponsor was needed, along with the box ticked as "no vis  shall be issued to an alien, (1) it appears to CO from statements or in the paper submitted therewith is ineligible to receive a visa under section 212 etc and it goes on for few more sentences..." does this mean along with her statements something was wrong or does this just indicate that an additional sponsor was needed???...... i mailed documents from the U.S and the embassy received them on nov 18th and from that time my case has been updated on the 20th, and 21st what does that mean? I also emailed them on the 20th of U.S time which was technically the morning of the 21st there, but I haven't received any response. I am a US citizen so i am wondering how much longer it would take. My case was not put under AP by the way.

For those who are under AP review i found a process that your application has to go through and thats why it takes so long its listed below:

  • Administrative processing “

Once the application in held under this category the some of the following steps usually happen:

  1. Extensive Name Check – For common name hits that occur at the consulate further investigation is carried out to ensure the identity of the individual
  2. Finger Prints Investigation- Finger prints taken at the interview are forwarded to FBI for cross checking against records
  3. Condor Checks: This happens to check on the following items
    1. Travel to predominantly Muslim countries
    2. Prior foreign military service in certain countries
    3. Prior employment in sensitive sectors
    4. Specialized training that may have military, intelligence or security implications
    5. Birth or residency in certain countries
  4. Mantis Check – Conducted on individuals involved in one of the 15 fields in critical fields list on the Department of State Technology Alert List
  5. NCIC (National Crime Information Center) Lookup: For checking on any previous criminal records
  6. Consulate Consolidated Database (CCD) check – for all previous applications and records with US consulates
  7. Checking in any of the alert systems: IBIS (Interagency Border Inspection System), NIIS (Non-Immigrant Information System), CLASS (Consular Lookout and Support System), TIPOFF (Classified DOS Bureau of Intelligence database), NAILS (National Automated Immigration Lookout System), TECS II (Treasury Enforcement and Communucation System), TSC and TTIC databases (DOS Terrorist Screening system)

I have been in administrative processing for Seven Months, applied for CR-1 visa. Attended interview without wife, Consular officer issued me Administrative Processing Highlighted Page after taking interview for 10mins only. CO said me in the end of  interview "ok you can go now", you need additional administrative processing".

CO also questioned me what do you do? I replied him I am an Electrical Engineer, he also questioned me do you have your CV? I had showed him my CV, he also kept my CV, may be they have put me in administrative processing because of Engineering Field.

I have inquired US Embassy Islamabad twice regarding my visa every time they send me following reply.

Thank you for writing to our office. Your immigrant visa case is your visa application is "refused" for administrative processing, an integral part of the visa adjudication and issuance process that can neither be neither expedited nor waived. Unfortunately, it is difficult to predict the amount of time the processing will take and timing varies based on the individual circumstances of each case.  Don't know why they used the word refused.
