Good morning all,

 

I am brand new to this site.  I have a question that I hope I can get some help on.  I called the NVC thbis last Friday regarding my case.  It was in review for about 4 days.  They notified me that I did not sign my name in one area of the I-864 Affidavit of Support.  I was told it will take up to 11 weeks again after I have already waited 9 weeks already.  I was given the address and it was sent to the attention of the DR (i think it was Document Review Department).  Has this happen to anyone else?  And if so, did it take as long as they said?

I'm sorry to say, Yes.  It happened to us.  After initially waiting about 10 weeks, we received a checklist for a "missing" item.  My attorney called NVC to "fix the problem".  About 11 weeks later, we received the official "case complete" email....

 

So, yes, the 11 week clock resets when you get a checklist.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Hi there!

 

Unfortunately it's true, once you send them the corrected form, it can take up to 11 weeks for them to get to your documents again, depending on how busy they are. They put all your stuff at the back of the line again, scan it into their system again...and then you have to wait until they get to you file..again.

 

It's frustrating, but there's really nothing you can do about it except wait.

DHL tracking information received: 22-February-2017     DHL tracking number appeared 28 hours after interview, scheduled for delivery the next day
Visa in hand: 23-Feb-2017
US POE (Minneapolis): 26-Feb-2017

Was yours just for a signature or just additional paperwork?  Either way I Guess it does not matter.  It just does not seem fair to have to wait all over again.

Mine was for additional paperwork, but my attorney called the NVC about it.  I'm not sure if the attorney actually sent them any more documents.
