question about taxes

hello,

on the N400 form for the question where it says " have you ever not filed a federal or state tax since you became a permanent resident" - I did not file 2008-2010 since I was a dependent under my parents in 2008. 2009/2010 I was no longer a dependent due to age but I was still living with them and I worked very little and made way below the requirement to file taxes according to the IRS, do I need to check "yes" and attach an explanation saying that I did not make enough money or what should I do? I filed taxes starting 2011.

I already have a letter that I got from the IRS web site stating that I do not owe any back taxes, should I attach that to my explanation or simply bring it to my interview in case they ask?

question 2: my green card expires in May, what would happen if for some reason my paperwork took longer than expected to process and my green card expired before I got my citizenship? would that create a problem going for my interview? would I have to renew my green card prior to my interview?

thank you!

Adrian
