I am hoping for the best and the wedding planning is very stressful as well but it is coming along great. Have the venue, wedding decorator & ect just missing one thing the groom

He'll be there soon. What's the wedding theme? What menu did you pick out?

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

Thank you we are hoping that he'll be here soon. Wedding theme is gold, ivory & orange well that's more colors lol but we are going for the modern theme. As far as the menu we are still in the process of deciding lol

That all sounds very exciting!!! We'll only be doing the courthouse because we just want to get on with our lives and do regular stuff that couples get to do in person. Also, we want to put the money towards buying a second property or travelling :D

Have you gotten your dress yet?

I have booked vendors and I cant get my deposits back either. It has been one hella of ride I tell you that

It's a moot point for you now but maybe it will help someone else reading this thread thinking of booking the wedding before having the visa in hand as you never know when you might be put into extended additional processing.

USCIS website and most if not all embassy websites say not to make any irreversible (non refundable) plans until you have visa in your hand. If the wedding date is important you should marry on the date that is important and go the spousal visa route.

There are two options for the fiancé visa really - if you plan way ahead knowing what you want to have (but not actually booking it) you can time it so that once you have the visa in hand you can use the remainder of the validity of the visa plus the 90 days once in country to organise the larger wedding or you can do what most do and have a legal wedding once you get here then plan the big family celebration for later.

The immigration process isn't stopping anytime soon. We will be living and breathing it for at least 5 years :bonk: Luckily the subsequent stages won't be as bad as the petition and K-1.

If you don't mind to share, I'd like to see a picture of your dress. I love all things pretty and wedding.

Looks like you were given bad advise about Attorney's making it faster. Although the wait seems long you are still withing normal processing times. Nothing to panic about as this is how long it takes. The September wedding MAY be possible if all goes well. Do not make any more plans, including purchasing the flights, until the visa is in your fiance's hands and everything is accurate. This is the #1 rule of immigration.

Good luck.

No rush. Btw, do I need to make an appointment before rocking up to their store to look at and try on some dresses? :D

Thank you for your input definitely not making anymore plans until at the end of the whole thing is done and over with and he had his visa. As far as the attorney definitely not the best advice.

It's best that you do make an appointment do to them being busy. If you don't you will be in the store for hours with no attention to you what's so ever

Oh cool! Even without attention, is it possible to browse on our own? :jest: I'm so inexperienced. Please excuse that.
