Hi everyone,

My wife and i are traveling to Canada in a month with my advance parole/employment card. When we approach the US/Canada border, what document do i provide to the border officer? And then what document do i provide the border officer when we leave Canada? Document meaning Canadian passport or employment/AP card. Is there anything extra I should bring with me in case?

Thank you!

Mike

if you are a US citizen, a passport is recommended but not required. Depending on your wife's citizenship, her passport and a visa, if one is required. On the way back, it will be your US passport and her advance parole along with her passport. She, you may not be permitted, however, they let me help my wife, will be taken inside for fingerprints, a separate interesting and beautiful PAROLED stamp and standard questions as to where did you go, etc.

Nothing hard or extra ordinary, but it will be an interesting experience. A wait could be about 1 hour as well.

You'll enter Canada as normal (using your passport). When you seek to re-enter the US you need to present your passport AND your AP card to be paroled into the country. If you have taken your wifes name after marriage, you should carry your marriage certificate to explain the discrepancy between your passport and AP card name.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

Hello, how are you? Good to find someone who have the same issue as mine. My husband and I were planning to go to Canada for a week. I have a Philippine Passport and I just got my EAD/AP Combo Card and my I-485 (AOS) is still pending. What process should I do? Will it be hard for me to come back to the US? I appreciate if you could share your experience when you visited Canada. Thank you so much in advance.
