Birth Certificate Spelling mistake

I am applying for K1 visa for my girl friend. However, it just came into my attention that her name as well as her father's name were spelled incorrectly in her Birth Certificate. This is a very common issue for Indian citizens. I am not sure why. Anyway, her other documents, such as her govt. ID proof, her passport, school certificates have her name spelled correctly. I am just curious whether she needs to correct her birth certificate before we proceed with the K1 visa process. Does anyone have idea or experience?

In addition, my fiance was divorced twice and she was forced to marry both times by her parents against her wish. The marriages didnot last long (maybe about a month. She does not have any contact with any of her ex- spouses anymore. So she does not know their Date of Birth and it was not mentioned in any of her divorce certificates. Is it ok if she put "unknown" in the form?

Thank you,

Hi...

Personally, I don't have experiences with that, but you really have to correct her birth certificate! I don't know how long the correction will take in India but from what I know, you will just need her birth certificate at the time of the interview. Therefore, this will give you approx. 3-4 months to let it be corrected while waiting for the NOA2.

Thank you my friend for the advice. My lawyer said the same. My fiance is in process to fix it :).
