1. Some of you mentioned the documents you carried for the interview. Is birth certificate one of them?

2. I am not able to locate mine and was trying to remember the specific action/stage at which it was required. Does anyone know?

3. Did anyone have an experience where they asked for the birth certificate and you didn’t have one?

Thank you.

The IO did request to see my foreign birth certificate and kept a copy of it on file.  (birth certificate is not one of the required documents for the N400, or required for the interview, but I was lucky that I had it on me at the time)

If the officer wants to see it (for whatever reason), and you don't have it---you can explain why you didn't bring it (ie.  you didn't know it was needed since it's not mentioned anywhere for the N400/you no longer have it/etc.).  If the officer does insist on getting it, they will RFE you for it later on before approval...but it's unlikely.

I took mine to the interview to be safe - they didn’t look at it.
I believe it’s not needed as it would already be on file from your original visa application process

Thank you for responding. I have the original scanned, just don’t have the actual one (hopefully will find it).

Thank you, Going through. It was your post that I remember reading where you mentioned it was asked of you. I have the original scanned, will take that with me.

(FYI, I got a biometrics notification in less than 24 hours of filing online).

Does anybody know that when you file online, do you have to put the exact dates for previous employment? To be honest, i don't remember at all when i started the job and when i left the job.

Just put down the dates to the best of your memory. I am sure mine weren't exact.  And they will check, and as long as you're close I'm pretty sure you'll be fine.  Good luck!!

I applied online last night and I already have an RFE. I revised my application carefully and I know I answered all the questions and I didn't answer yes to any questions on Part 12. However, it now appears like I didn't answer question #30:

  1. Have you EVER been removed, excluded, or deported from the United States

What would I have to do in this case? Do you think this is the reason why I got an almost automatic RFE

Any advice?

Hi!! How did u fix this?

It's could be just a program glitch. I haven't RFE but when in a few weeks copy of my application finally showed up in my account it was missing my maiden name. However my all names was in a application that I have printed out in day of submitting. So I sent email to USCIS and added to an account  scan of the page with correct information. On the interview nobody even mention that.

Thank you! That ticket is old, and I'm not sure how to go about getting proof of it, but I could try the county I was ticketed in. 🤔

A couple of weeks back, I was able to retrieve the record from a ticket issued in 2003 by emailing the clerks from 5 different court districts handling the issuing county. Haha. I’m taking no chances...
