It’ll have your ssn on it, can’t you just download a transcript of it from the irs website?

For some reason, IRS wouldn't let me sign up for an online account to request a tax transcript online. It tells me to try again in 24 hours. I will try again tomorrow. Thank you so much for your help!

Hello!

I've been trying to submit the form, I log in, I can make changes etc. then I go to review before submitting, everything looks fine, but when I click on NEXT, it gives me ERROR 500. It's been for days. I tried to contact them, a very rude lady called and said that this is not their problem, it is my computer, she repeated it like tons of time and sounded very irritated. I tried all browsers possible, same story.

It worked several days ago, I even managed to print it out. May be after that the document disappears there somehow? Any ideas?

Also, I read a bit this forum: are you downloading the tax returns? But I thought you need to bring them to the interview, not download them while filing online. Do you think it is necessary?

Thank you all

Hi Lolik. I am getting the same 500 error message when trying to file the N400 online. I also tried via my iPad to see if my computer is the issue but got the same message. I hope someone has a solution here. I really do not want to send through the mail if I can avoid it.

Im not Lolik) but I had same kind of problem with the site on weekends. After I changed a browser on Fox and worked on aplication on work days everything started louding faster and without 404 mistake, when I sent application on work day also without having any "mistakes"

Thanks for the response!  I just loaded Firefox. My form pulls up completed, but, the same error appears when I try to review. Did you start your form over when you switched browsers?

Nothing was working properly on weekends, so I would wait till Monday. My application just didn't open on weekends saying page doesn't exist error 404. But on work days its opens without problems and everything what I placed already, was there, I just continue to fill up and sent application.

The 500 Internal Server Error is a very general HTTP status code that means something has gone wrong on the web site's server (but the server could not be more specific on what the exact problem is).

You can upload whatever you want in support of your case, as long as it's relevant. In fact, the N400 guide strongly suggests you submit past tax returns, especially if you're filing based on the 3 year marriage eligibility.

Thank you! So I should wait till it resolves?

No, I am filing on different eligibility. Should I scan only first page of the tax returns or everything? this will be huge files

If you are filing under the 3-year rule, you'll need to upload your tax returns with your N400 application when submitting it online.

If you are filing under the 5-year rule, you are not required to upload them, however its suggested to bring them to the interview.

You can upload your tax return transcripts, instead of the full tax return info---these should only be a few pages each.

If you choose to upload the full tax return records, you'll have to submit every single page or else it's not submitting a complete return.

I am getting the same error. I have tried three different browsers and tried to run the review both at home and work. Does anyone know a way to clear up the 500 error issue?  I really prefer to file the N400 online if possible.
