Hi thank you for your reply! No I don't have the 10 year gc yet, just the conditional 2 year marriage based, by ROC has been pending since october 2016...

i am applying under 3 year rule.

I wanted to submit the foreign marriage registration but there won't be enough time to translate it so should i just bring it to interview?

thanks!

Also would you happen to know, if I can apply on the 12th does it means 1 am of the 12th I can already apply ? thanks!!

I have just applied online this morning for citizenship. 11/27 was the first day I could finally apply so I stayed up until midnight last night to already apply, as you are suggesting. But it didn't work. Their website still said I had to get my citizenship on or before Feb 24 and I got it Feb 25. So I went to bed and did it this morning at around 6:30am. I still haven't received my NOA though. Hopefully it comes today as I've seen that happens for a lot of people that it is uploaded the same day to the online account. Although they might be slammed with backlog from Thanksgiving.

Regarding the marriage certificate from your home country, I think it's fine if you just take it with you at the interview. I uploaded just my US marriage certificate. But I uploaded the one with apostille. I  had to get an apostille on it so I can get my marriage recognized in my home country. For me, I say that it's good enough. I won't translate my Romanian one. I have a bunch of other evidence such as tax returns and bank statements, joint lease, joint car, joint IRA's. I think that is plenty to prove bona fide marriage. Best of luck!

So after applying for citizenship online yesterday morning, my case status has been updated this morning at 3 AM. At the top, it states the current processing time for naturalization is 10 months so I guess I should be a citizen by September 2018. It says my case will be processed at the Santa Ana Office. They say they will start the process with a background check, they will schedule me for biometrics and verify my submission for completeness. At the end it states "Current Wait Time: 27 days". Does anybody know what this current wait time refers to? Thank you.

Removal of Conditions:

2016-09-27: I-751 removal of conditions petition sent (with fee waiver request)

2016-09-30: I-751 petition delivered to California Service Center

2016-11-01: Informed in USCIS customer service call that they had no record of receiving our petition, but that it might still be languishing somewhere in fee waiver limbo

2016-11-01: Filed I-751 again, this time with payment check instead of fee waiver request (sent Priority Express)

2016-11-03: Date on I-797 Notice of Action (received 11/7)

2016-11-09: USCIS mailed out denial of our original fee waiver request, with denial letter dated 2016-11-02

2016-11-19: Biometrics appointment notice issued, for 2016-12-07 appointment

2016-11-26: Second biometrics appointment notice issue, for 2016-12-16 appointment (see this thread)

2016-12-07: Biometrics appointment. Allowed to complete biometrics despite mix-up on their end (again see this thread), but some people had to come back for second appointment date.

2018-05-01: Notice that our case was transferred to National Benefits Center in Lee's Summit, MO

2018-06-11: Approved after N-400 interview in Portland, OR (they seemed to be waiting for that before bothering with it)

Citizenship:

2017-12-11: N-400 Application for Naturalization submitted online while still waiting to hear back on I-751, received same day

2017-12-15: Biometrics notice

2018-01-04: Biometrics completed, on appointment date (Portland, OR)

2018-02-28: Interview scheduled for April 12 in Portland, OR

2018-03-01 (approximate): We sent in a letter requesting that the interview be rescheduled to after June 8, due to combination of work and family travel plans

2018-03-07: Notice that our April 12 interviewed had been "canceled" (pending rescheduling, but the letter didn't actually say that; officer at InfoPass later explained that interviews aren't scheduled until five or six weeks before the interview date, so they were waiting until closer to our requested rescheduling window)

2018-05-03: New interview scheduled for June 11.

2018-06-11: Citizenship interview - approved!

Hmm, that’s a tough one but I would think just go ahead and apply. If the system takes in your application then I don’t think they’ll revoke it. It’s interesting to know about the dates because when I submitted my application in July, there was no mention of those dates. I became a resident back in 2011.

I've been looking for that online link to apply for the past month and couldnt find it anywhere. Today i went and send my application with USPS priority mail and of course i found this thread that has the link on the first page!

I just tried to intercept my package since it's still at the post office that i left it this morning but USPS online is trying to charge my $19 -_-  .. meh what a pain.. I think I'll let the application go the old fashioned way and just wait forever.. Wish i found this thread earlier though.

It's technically not part of the application, it's just the guard that holds the doors to the online application lol and if you select no to that answer it simply says "you MIGHT not be eligible for online filing".. notice the soft language..  And on the application it's asking for the day you became resident so i would put the correct one there.. then if they ask later on or not accept the application no harm done.

I think since i mailed my application this morning I will just leave it as it is and wait for ages for the Dallas USCIS to process it.. what a pain :/

So the online eligibility questions say you are eligible if you became a resident between February 26 2013 to February 26 2015. I became a resident on February 27 2015 :) If i answer yes to the question even thought i became a resident a day later it lets me go through with the application.. What do you think would happen if i did that? :) will it let me pay for the application and then if they decline do i get the money back? .. long shot and wondering if its worth the risk to try doing online vs sending the paper application...

I remember reading here on VJ of someone who filed a day early (or perhaps a couple?), and they took him/her all the way to the interview before telling him the application was filed before the actual window opened. I can't find the thread, but it's there, in this section.

So, yeah, not worth the risk! ;)

F-1 Visa: Academic years 2007/2010.

K-1 Visa: I-129F sent Aug 2013; Approved Jan 2014.

Green Card: AOS sent Feb 2014; Approved Jan 2015.

Removal of Conditions: I-751 sent Nov 2016; Approved Apr 2018.

US Citizenship: Application sent Nov 2017; Fingerprints Nov 2017; Civics/English exam March 2018; Oath May 2018.

Filed: Other Country: United Kingdom
