Holy ... it's telling me that they reviewed my biometrics

BUT

it also says estimated interview date JULY 2018!!!!

Did anyone else have an estimated completion date?!

Filed online on 8/28

Hi @VetsWife328,

My field office is also Seattle and I filed online too on August 7, 2017.

Current status is "We reviewed your bio-metrics" after the website update.

It was "USCIS has scheduled your interview and will mail you an appointment notice" before the website update. My Case Completion Estimate says "8 months" - June 2018. Interview estimate is "7 months". But, I've learnt from this forum that the estimate is not much reliable and/or accurate.

So, technically you can follow my case to see how things goes for online filers of Seattle.

After a lot of reading forums, I came to conclusion that although online filing is faster, it also depends on the field office. I have not found a Seattle field office N400 online filer on this forum yet who applied before August 7, 2017. I am looking continuously so that I can follow his/her case to kinda know what to expect.

If you find anyone from Seattle field office N400 filers, who filed before August 7, 2017 - please let me know so that I can follow their case.

Thanks,

NaturalizeHope

Hi Hope

i was hoping the process would be faster as it used to be.

Every case is different though.

i am filing with the 5 year rule because I didn’t want to deal with all the paperwork you need when you file with the 3 year rule.

Also I have never left the country since I got here on January 27 th 2009.

My son got his certificate of citizenship years ago due to his father being a born citizen so in my case that is out of the way too.

i hope for all of us that this is a speedy non complicated process.

if I do receive updates I will let you know.

best of luck to you!

Maybe we will have our Interview the same day 😁

Met on May 17,2005

Got engaged on Sep 15th,2006

Came to the US for good on Jan 27th,2009

and we got married on March 28th,2009

GOD , grant me the serenity

to accept the things I can not change

the courage to change the things I can

and the wisdom to know the difference!

Going though the online application and I see nowhere to upload a picture of yourself.  Is this required?  I know for the paper submission you need to include passport style photos.

Also, I am eligible to file under the 5 year rule instead of 3 year via marriage.  How does this change this support I need to submit?  I still see areas in the online evidence section to submit a marriage certificate and support for children.

Thanks for your responses :)

No photos are required. If the application doesn’t ask for it, you don’t need it. It’s as simple as that.

Even with paper applications, photos are needed ONLY if applying from outside the USA.

Your application as it stands does not require photos.

Those filing under the 3 year marriage online need to submit evidence of marriage, you do not.

Near the end of your application, it will auto-prompt you to upload certain types of evidence depending on how you filled out the application.  Upload those, and include anything else you wish USCIS to consider during your processing.  I wasn't required to upload my marriage cert. or child birth cert. or passport but I did anyhow as a way of front-loading my application a bit in the hopes of making the processing more streamlined/quicker when confirming info on their side (I included these uploads under the Additional Evidence section).

Photos are not technically required, as many people have responded.

However -- it is a good idea to bring two passport-style photos to your interview in any case.

Several VJ people have reported being asked for photos at the N-400 interview, and they either had to rush out immediately, get photos and bring them back on the spot, or have their approval delayed by however long it took them to get the photos back to USCIS.

Apparently this can happen if the photo taken at biometrics is not suitable for use. It's rare, but can and does happen. You might want to consider saving yourself that possible headache and bring photos with you. :-)

My wife took 4 extra photos with her and the interviewer took 2 of them.
