Hey all :)

We filed our i129f (engaged not married)  in April and had a confirmation that the case was received April 7th, its been sent to the California service centre. That was all we've heard, I've read that this is the most time consuming part and waiting part but I was wondering if anyone else has filed this year and if they have heard anything back yet? I really want to start planning out wedding, my fiancé is leaving England in September with our dog has his tourist visa is coming to an end and I will just be waiting until I can join them.

Also when my fiancé filed all the information he forgot to send his birth certificate, does anyone know how much added time roughly that would add on?

Thanks so much, hope you all have a great day!

Rachel

I heard that a RFE of any kind could add 2 weeks to the processing time.

Hey Rachel! :)

From NOA1 to NOA2 it takes about 3 months. Could be longer though. I think average processing time is about 102 days right now. If you get a RFE you have to add that time.
Then roughly a month from NOA2 to Pack 3, and maybe another month for the rest.

Don't make any fixed plans or purchases. You can't know.

Good luck for your journey!

Hi, Rachel!

Received date April 6th here :)

You can fill in your timeline to get an estimate on when you could be expecting your NOA2 (right now mine is 19-24 July).

You'll get a RFE because of the birth certificate missing, and that can add 2 weeks-1 month I guess, but no way to know anything for sure with USCIS.

You are more than welcome to join in the April filers subforum here:

Best of luck. Getting there!

Hi Rachel,

Me and my fiancé sent in our i-129F in February and they confirmed they received it feb 28th. I've been watching the current processing times through this website and according to it they were processing cases from that time period a few days ago and still no update on the case status. So my fiancé called UCSIS to check what was going on and apparently our case was sent to the California Service center and not the Texas one like we though. And the guy on the phone said that California is currently processing i-129F from december 15th!! So probably another 2-3 months of wait for us until they get to our case.. And even more for you since you filed in beginning of April.

This wait sucks so bad..! :(

California Service Center is the only service center that handles i-129f petitions these days. The address in Texas you sent your petition to is only a lockbox, all cases get routed to CSC from there.

From filing to NOA2 is taking 3-4 on average months right now. Once it passes 6 months, it's out of normal processing time and you can submit a case inquiry to try to see what's going on.

An RFE will add at least close to 2 weeks just due to the mailing of documents involved. It'll take close to a week to receive, and the same time to get back to USCIS and acknowledged. Once an RFE response is received and 60 days have passed since then, the case is out of normal processing time again.

Having the visa in hand by Sept. would be unlikely (but still possible if the stars align right). With an RFE, that's probably not possible, though. Don't make any firm, plans until the visa is in hand...anything can happen along the way with immigration.

As noted, all new I-129Fs go to CSC. Texas is just the lockbox. TSC stopped handling new I-129Fs a couple years ago. The posted USCIS processing timeline is severely outdated and doesn't cover the majority of their ongoing processing. Many February filers have received a NOA2, and a handful of March filers started to getting them last week.

First off calm down! We all had to wait and you need to be patient. The uscis always gives standard answers. So, while technically applications are still being done from December, ones from February have been approved as well.

All cases get sent to the CSC now.

I waited over 100 days for my NOA2 and that's pretty common. Others have waited 6 months or more for NOA2. The numbers on this website are pretty accurate most of the time. Their are always exceptions and people who have to wait way longer, while some get approved super fast. It's just the way it is and unfortunately you just need to wait.

I've been away from my fiance over 6 months, we all understand how you feel. Just try to be patient and talk to your fiance every day.

Rachel

My fiancé filed my i129f in december 13 !

got approved in january 5th !beacause of a lot of holidays in december so get a little delayed for approval! After i submit my documents upon request in us embessy i make an appointment for my medical ! And then i book the date for my interview with the embessy in germany this whole process from ( i-129f approval  to mediacl exam ) took 1 month ! I schedule my interview 14 feb 2017! And then my online status changed to ap which was so annoying for me but wasn't for long after 3 weeks of my interview status changed from ap to issued!

I got my passport in hand 13 march 2017!

and i came in usa 4th of april and we applied for my AOS for my green card ! Hopefully in few weeks i will have my gc in hand! Best of luck to you!

Don't worry about the birth certificate it won't take long making the decision after they received the birth certificate!

i forgot my birth certificate too! But the i submit in the first place and yet my process wasn't that long as we expected ! I got k1 visa in hand like in 2 months of time! Best luck to you!

Do you mean April or August? If the NVC received the petition in April, you should be at the interview stage by now. August would be a different story.

If you are going through the visa process and will be interviewing in Casablanca, Morocco, join us over at the
