So my husband and I are planning to go to the IRS office to get our IRS Tax Transcripts printed for ROC as proof that we filed our 2015 and 2016 taxes jointly. (I know that there is an option to get them in mail but we prefer to get them in person). Anyway, I read on the IRS website that there are multiple types of IRS Tax transcripts:

1. Tax Return Transcript

2. Tax Account Transcript

3. Record of Account Transcript

4. Wage and Income Transcript

https://www.irs.gov/individuals/tax-return-transcript-types-and-ways-to-order-them

Which type(s) is/are needed for ROC? For AOS we sent Tax Return Transcripts but I just want to be sure.

Thanks!

The online site doesn't work for everyone.  For some reason, it couldn't verify my cellphone number, so they had to send it to me via snail mail.  If you have to request a transcript by mail, don't worry too much.  Mine came in only 4 days!

Yep, the online site didn't work for us either. My husband tried it back then with the K1 and AOS but with no success. Both times he ended up going to the IRS office and had the transcripts being printed right then and there. Now we don't even bother with the online site.

Return transcripts summarize what you filed in detail with earnings, deductions, credits, etc typically a few pages long.  Account transcripts are basically a summary that shows payment you made (or refund you were given) since filing your returns and the outstanding balance if any, typically a single page document; kinda helps you keep track of your payments and such. Both show the "filing status" and that's what USCIS is interested in. Hence you could use either but since it is so easy to get those, I'd recommend getting both and sending together.
