Ah alright , that changes things. Didn't read properly. Can you please fill in your timeline? It's unclear if you have submitted your AOS or not. You aren't required to send any evidence of relationship at all with the i485, you would only bring it if you get called to an interview which mny K1's do not. We got direct approval at the NBC and only sent a joint apt lease. Ppl get the same or interview waiver having not sent any at all as well. So you have nothing to worry about. If you get an interview you would bring what you have there but they know that K1's haven't been married long so they don't expect that much at this stage.

All I was saying is that the amount of evidence doesn't determine if you get an interview or not. You have no reason (from what you've told us) to be at all worried at the interview. Good luck :)

worried just to be questioned why did we keep her ex's husband last name while our only reason was time and money, yes i do have a certified copy of the marraige certificate

Then she can just start using her new last name.

If you're concerned about not having the same last name, I think what others are saying is that it does not cost anything to go ahead and change her last name now. Your marriage certificate is the legal document she can use to begin using her new last name.  You can then go to court to change her first name at a later date.

We recently has our AOS interview.  We only had a few items.  I think they're pretty understanding that newly marrried couples won't have reams of evidence yet.  The most important thing is for your both to go over the I-485 and G325 that were submitted for AOS.  That is what they drilled us on.  They also looked at our pics from the wedding and questioned us about that.  Court weddings are fine.  Don't worry about that part.

we didn't want to change her last name and then after a while we change her 1st name, that would be really too much to have ur name changed twice for less than a year that's why we decided to do it when ever we have the money after the process is done. we have the petition that we r gonna submit to the court  we r taking a copie of it to show the IO. We also decided not to do it right before the interview so it doesn't look suspicious why we only doing it a few days before the interview and raise more qstions on us

Then you have made that decision so you can't worry about it with AOS at this point.  I'm sure you'll be fine.  Good Luck!

How are they going to know when she started changing her name?  You just start calling credit card companies, utilities, insurance companies, etc.  Take your marriage license into the bank, they will change your name on your account right then.  They never aksed me at our AOS interview for what date I changed my name.  My driver's license is still in my maiden name.  I am still in the process of changing credit cards.

But its understandable that she doesn't want to have to repeat all of that a second time when she changes her first name.  So if I were you I wouldn't worry about it now.  I really don't think its an issue.  Lots of women don't change their names after marriage.   It doesn't make your marriage less bonafide.  AOS interview really isn't as stressful as the K1 interview.  As long as your marriage is real and you can answer the questions from the I-485 and G325A, have some evidences, and pictures you should do ok.

they would know from the date on  the court order thats gonna have the new name on it thats what im thinking, other than we went through every single paper together and we know the answer to every qstion, but i just dont wanna hear this qstion "why you only changed your wife's name a few days before the interview ? why only now ?"

and also at the same time i think we should do it o they can be aware ofthe name change and put the document with the rest of the application....
