dont forget you do have to file US taxes if you're a USC living abroad. It would be important to do this before filing petitions too. 

File 1040 with a 2555 attachment....under 100k, no problem

You are correct but you made it sound earlier like you did not pay taxes. But you can try to reschedule the biometrics and try and make that appt. What country is your wife from if you don't mind me asking? Best of luck to you.
