Good for you and I am happy for you that it took 6 months for everything.  I submitted I-129F along with a I-130.  My I-129F was submitted in the first week of Feb and it hasn't been touched by the USCIS :(

K3 visa is obsolete. They will do nothing with your I-129F and will proceed to process your I-130. K-3 was available when I-130 approval took longer than a year.

I have read what you posted from other members, but if it's obsolete, why is it still available and why did my friends 129F get approved before his 130 last year?

It's still on the books until the law is changed. There's no rush for anybody to change the law. That doesn't mean it's a viable path, though. While there are a very small handful of K-3s still being granted, it's practically an exercise in futility. Even with an approve I-129F, it almost always gets closed administratively once sent to NVC.

I agree with you, because my friends 129 was approved before his 130, but his 130 got approved 2 weeks later or less than 2 weeks later and that made his 129 useless.  I am just hoping anything gets approved for me to move on in the process.  It's been almost 6 months (5 months and 2 weeks exactly) and i haven't gotten approved

Hi Everyone!

I just would like to know. Normally how long is the waiting time for the NOA2 to be received?

We received the NOA1 last May 26, 2017.

What cases are being considered to be given RFE

Hopefully the consul will give the approval soon. :)

what are the best things to do while waiting?

Thanks guys.

Raffa

You might get your NOA2 (or RFE, hopefully not) by end of August or early September. It generally takes 3 months but of course some would be delayed.

If your forms are completed correctly and you included all the necessary supporting documents (on top of any additional helpful evidence), you'll likely get your NOA2 without a hitch. With everything you've submitted, if the officer reviewing your case requires more or needs you to rectify any mistakes on the forms, they'll send you a RFE.

Right now, best thing you can do is to list down what all you need for the embassy level. Start gathering or drafting those things that are not date sensitive first. Then of course looking into flight prices, movers and whatnot, depending on what you need.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

Their profile say its for a K1

Oh I was confused for a second since he said about all these months at the NVC and so on. Normally the NOA1 takes around a week (max 2), NOA2 between 3 and 5/6 months, to get to the NVC takes around 2 weeks and it stays at the NVC at max for a week or two. It took for me less than a week to get to the Embassy and at that point it all depends with what type of embassy the person is dealing with as mine was pretty quick.
