Hi Everyone!

I just would like to know. Normally how long is the waiting time for the NOA2 to be received?

We received the NOA1 last May 26, 2017.

What cases are being considered to be given RFE

Hopefully the consul will give the approval soon. :)

what are the best things to do while waiting?

Thanks guys.

It's about an average wait of 3-4 months for NOA2, but it can take up to 6 months, and very rarely longer.

RFEs are usually given when a case has missing or incorrect information. Common RFEs include request for evidence of meeting in person, incorrect or missing passport photos, forgetting to check a box or complete a section on the I-129F and if you met online, terms and conditions of the website detailing that the site is not a marriage broker. RFEs add 2 weeks to a month on average to the process.

Not too much you can do while waiting, other than research the process and find out what you will need for your embassy interview after you receive NOA2.

Thank you dear.

I just cant wait for the response from the uscis. Hopefully theres no rfe so we can proceed continuously. :)

i guess I forgot to check one of the boxes but was able to put on K1 visa something like that.

Oh it will take 4-5months. Thats quite long. Omg.

Does it not matter which NVC the papers have been assigned to?

In this stage, is it still early to collect and acquire all my requirements like birth certificate,NBi clearance, police clearance? Or is it fine to acquire it now? :)

i just want to be ready.

As far as I know, all K1 petitions are being sent to the California Service Center at this time. There is only 1 NVC, which is where the petition will go after it is approved by the CSC. From there, the NVC assigns the case a number and forwards it to the country of the beneficiary.

The problem with collecting those documents this early is that they often have a set expiration date, so you may have to recollect them again once your interview occurs if they do expire. You might want to check out the Philippines portal on this site, it has a lot of specific information about documents needed for the Manila embassy.

5/26 is like 2 weeks ago haha.  Be very patient.  I submitted my form (I-130) in late December 2016.  Got my NOA1 after 2 weeks in early January.  In mid April, I got a RFE which I submitted 2 days after I received it.  We are in the second week of June and I haven't gotten anything.  So, I have been waiting very close to 6 months and I haven't gotten my NOA2, but hopefully soon.

I know people say the normal time is 6 months.  My friend had to wait 8.5 months to get his NAO2.  As far as RFE, I was told by a government clerk who deals with immigration services that an officer has 45 days to answer to a RFE response.  When I told this clerk mine has reached 45 days, she told me "45 days from the day the officer gets it on their desk, and we don't know when the officer got it."  It's frustrating, but we have to be patient.  Good luck

Good for you and I am happy for you that it took 6 months for everything.  I submitted I-129F along with a I-130.  My I-129F was submitted in the first week of Feb and it hasn't been touched by the USCIS :(

Don't worry, it's all about patience. I know it is hard (it was for me) but you'll see how soon you'll have your package with NOA2 and once you pass that point, it's all much much quicker!. Try to use this time to have the necessary papers ready so when it comes the time to send them with your package 3, you'll have them.
I would say max. in 1 month or 2 (if not even before that) you'll have your NOA2!

Thank you for the positive comment.  I have all the documents ready for the nvc believe it or not and in order.  I know people say after the uscis it moves quicker, but when i hear the nvc documents review process alone is up to 11 weeks (3 months almost) plus the interview is at least 30 days scheduled from the day it's booked that's 4 months alone.  Plus as the time for the uscis to send the case to the nvc and the nvc to process a case number and allowing the applicant to pay the fees and submit the online documents which takes at least 2 weeks.  All that alone is at least 5 months.  I think the uscis is 50% and the nvc/embassy is the other 50%

It probably just happened to be one of the last ones to be checked plus between the change of president and so on, the times pretty much changed and a lot of people were getting it after the "normal" 3 month waiting period. There was never an RFE or anything.
Yes, I am done now ^^ but I am not in the US yet. My package was sent from Texas Lockbox to California.
