Girlfriend Tourist Visa Denial impact on future filing

Hi. My girlfriend is trying to get a visa to come visit me in the course of the summer. I know the chances of gettig the visa are slim but does anyone know how a denied visa in this instance will impact her chances in future if i file a fiancee visa of spouse visa for her? thoughts and comments will be helpful. thanks

The only thing that will make it matter probably is that there is a question on the forms about whether the beneficiary has ever been denied a visa. That's all I can think of really. I don't think it will have any impact on future fiancee or spousal visa application (they have immigrant intent while tourist visa should not have immigrant intent).

As long as she's honest with the forms and CO, there's no impact on the K-1 (or CR-1 if you get married).

It should have no effect. My husband was also denied a tourist visa. We answered "Yes" to "Have you ever been refused a US visa?" on the DS-260 and explained that he was rejected under 214(b). We had no issues and they didn't even ask about it.

 

Your girlfriend should just tell the truth during the interview because they record that information. She has to mention you and the relationship if they ask about it. If she doesn't, the question can come up later during the process and cause issues.

I've been denied a B2 like 8-9 years ago, long before I met my fiancé. He filed the I-129F for me in March 2017 and we just got approved this week to enable us to proceed with a K-1 application. Having been in her shoes, I can say that her denied B2 wouldn't have much bearing on the future I-129F and K-1 applications as long as the both of you can prove a bona fide relationship  I personally know another fellow VJer who was denied a B2 but had no problems with her K-1. She's settled in the US now and even got her EAD recently.
