Hello.

I have applied a application to bring my wife from India back in May 2016.

Its been over a year now.

I was notified that the case is now in the hands of the National Visa Center after they obtained all documentation in the beginning of March of 2017.

They told me that it will take 11 weeks to process the information.

The information has been processed and it was noted that one piece of document was incorrect and that the correct one needed to be sent in which I did about two weeks ago.

A rep from the NVC confirmed that they obtained the document I sent in recently last Friday.

They told me it will take an additional 11 weeks to process THAT document......

Even though the document/letter that came as a conclusion of the incorrect document that they obtained said it will take 30 days.....they told me that information is false and it will take 11 weeks.....

Has anyone gone through a situation like this or can give me any insight?

I really miss my wife and its been over a year since I've last seen her face to face.

Just in case if anyone is wondering, I am a US Citizen and my spouse is in India.

1. We received a checklist for missing documents on Jan 13th, 2017 after initial scan date of Oct 11th, 2016

2.  Attorney called NVC and "took care of the mistake".

3. Finally received email from NVC for "case complete" on April 10th, 2017...12 weeks after receiving checklist

Yes, the clock is reset after NVC sends you a checklist.  There is nothing you can do other than patiently wait.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Errr....even though the NVC received the initial documents on March 2017? They said 11 weeks but its now officially 12 weeks.

When you say scan day, do you mean the day that they picked up the case or the day that they obtained my initial required documents? If it is the day that they received my documents, it has now been 12 weeks now....

Every time you send a document to NVC they enter a new scan date (date on which the document was received by them). And 11 weeks timer starts from every new scan date. I know its annoying but that how it is with them. Generally they respond in 8-9 weeks. I got checklist of PCC missing. Sent it to them on May 15th. So now I have to wait. Wish you luck!
