Ack!!!

If this is a big Nor'Easter, State College should be OK. ;)

Still I'm buying a replacement snow shovel on my way home tonight, some ####### nicked my last one.

Oh joy. Better run to the store and stock up on toilet paper, bread and milk.

 Why does everyone do that? It's not as if they're gonna die without bread and milk is it? The supermarkets are crazy whenever there is a weather alert here. You witness the most selfish human behavior possible. All over food they probably don't need. It's not as if they can't get to the store the next day or so, is it? I would go and get loo roll if I was down to the last one though.

How did your mum fare yesterday? It snowed all day here, stuck to all the trees, and looks sooo purdy. :D

I have no idea why they do that either! It's as if they think they will end up cannibals with sh!tty asses if they don't stock up. Derek and I had planned on heading to the store tomorrow because we actually *need* food. Guess we better do it early! Fortunately, thanks to Costco we are good on toilet paper.

Talked to my Mom last night and all was well so far. She did say it looked like Christmas out there. How much snow are they predicting for you guys with this latest storm? Here in DC all I am seeing is rain, wind, and maybe a flurry or two depending on how cold it gets.

You won't be the person stuck in a storm that's for sure. You never know what may happen. It may be dumb, and things may be taken for granted, but, preparing will prevent your demise if that case ever comes.

We have an emergancy box that contains all the thing we might need in the event of loss of power, sever weather, disaster... I also keep bread and milk in the freezer so we should be ok for a few days if the worst was to happen....

Yup, that's the way we are too. What I can't understand are the people who wait until they think the sky is falling and then run around like chickens without heads.

Lsast snow dump here in Va, had 1 guy out with one of those smal shovels from the fireplace, tryin gto dig himself out, lol!! I watched for awhile, then went and gave him my shovel to borrow!! lol

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

lol. Funniest VA shoveling story I have was a former neighbor who tried digging his car out with his squash racket. Not very effective as you might imagine. Almost as funny was a friend at college who tried to go sledding with a milk crate. *Shakes head*

Yeah, it was a southern college and they were from Georgia. So we northerners taught them that lunch trays are indeed much better sledding equipment. Not as good as my Yankee Clipper (which at least you can steer), but you can really boogie on a tray!
