We are having a lot of trouble submitting the form i864 for my husband to sponsor our daughter and her family, the visa center have sent it back and said we checked the wrong box on question 1, we checked 1 a relative sponsoring a family member, but we are totally confused as to what box it should be, i also submitted the i864a as suporting financial by a joint householder, does anyone know what we are doing wrong? Any advice would be welcome as this is the final stage of a fourteen year wait for a daughter of a US citizen coming from the UK.

hi

that's the right one

who is the petitioner, your husband? did he put his name on the i864, where it says I.......on top of the options

did he sign the i864A as the petitioner and you signed as his household member?

what financial documents did you send with the forms?

Yes he was the petitioner and i was the household member, we sent in the latest joint tax return (2016), w2's and the latest wage slips from both our jobs, we also listed assets, two houses paid for that my daughter will take details of when she goes for the interview, they told us we checked the wrong box, but wont tell us which one it should be!
