Hello everyone, I applied for AOS back in October of 2015 and have been waiting for my interview to be scheduled since January 25th 2016. I went to an infopass appointment in Feb of 2017 and they said there is nothing wrong with the application and that they waiting for an interview date and asked us to wait longer. I decided to reach out to the ombudsman in March as its way passed processing times for nyc field office. Got a reply from them last week saying that they have received my request and have contacted USCIS and that it can take up to 60 days for them to respond. Anyone else in a similar situation? Your thoughts as to what to do next will be greatly appreciated. I have already renewed my EAD/AP combo card once.

Have you received the 2 year card or the 10 year card?

Even if you received the 2 year card then i guess you can start applying for removal of conditions 90 days before your 2 year card expires and i guess your 90 days has started !

I got the 2 year card. My interview date was just shy of the 2 year mark so it is conditional. Wait I can apply now to remove conditions? I thought I had to do it with in 90 days before the card expired.

I think you have to be on the GC for at least 2 years before removing condition. I am NOT 100% but I am sure the Pros will correct me if I am wrong.

if your marriage has not completely 2 year anniversary then you will get a 2 year conditional green card and you can remove conditions within 90 days of expiry date of your conditional GC. Can you give more details like when exactly you got married. I see that you applied on October 2015. With those details it will be easy to give a proper answer.

You should be able to see the start and expiry date on the conditional green card. I think the reason you received conditional card is as follows:

25th-SEPT-2015

25th-SEPT-2017 (two years of marriage complete) but you still have 42 days for your 2nd wedding anniversary from today) and since your wedding didn't reach 2nd year anniversary, you've received your conditional green card. Look at your conditional GC you will see the expiry date of the card and you may apply 90 days before your card expires.
