Hi Visa Journey Family,

Does anyone know what is the best way to purchase a flights from Ghana to US?  Is it cheaper for the spouse in the US or the spouse in Ghana to purchase the ticket?

Whether cheaper to buy online from either location is just you needing to search and see about prices..

Generally weekday flights are cheaper than weekends.

Sometimes roundtrip tickets are cheaper than one ways. Just cancel the round trip ticket once in the US if not going to use it again.

Choice is only you and your spouses to make.

When i went to visit my fiance in Ghana the past few times i always just went to GOOGLE.COM and typed in OMA to ACC. It gives you a list of all of the flights from all airlines times and prices and you can even compare dates and prices. I was looking up prices from ACC to OMA a few days ago and i noticed a one way is cheaper depending on when He or she is coming the highest i seen the price was 800-1005. Goodluck :)

Google flights show you prices for each day, they even suggest cheaper dates to travel. I travel to GH often and it's my favorite site to use as I can see the price for dates months in advance. My fiance will be traveling from GH next month sometime on a one way ticket, I checked prices for round-trip as well... the one way was cheaper in our case.

I Googled flights and I love it.  It shows the price for each day on a monthly calendar.  I think from Ghana to Philly traveling South African Airlines is best.  Did you choose SAA or did you choose Delta?

Glad you like it also! I always choose Delta because they fly direct to NYC, I truly hate layovers. Don't want him to be bothered with laying over in another airport and there could be flight delays causing him to miss next flight etc   I will pick him up from JFK and then we'll just drive back to Philly.

That's a good idea. But I am terrible with driving directions outside of Philly.  The furthest I can do is to AC and back.  My sense of direction is bad.  HA!  Is driving to JFK simple or a bit complicated?  If so, I will go with SAA to Washington DC and connect flight to Philadelphia airport.

LOL too funny! Driving to JFK is pretty easy for most of the trip you're just heading north on the turnpike, you can always use GPS or google maps which is available on most cell phones. I used to live in NYC and drive back to Philly often it's not a bad drive at all unless you run into traffic of course.
