Issued means that your visa is being printed in your passport, it doesn't mean that it's ready for pickup. From when it's issued you need to wait for it to ship to DHL where you can pick it up.

Maybe because it's Ghana? Just because it was printed doesn't mean they send it immediately, who knows how long that takes. And maybe the postal service is slower in Ghana than most people are used to. Could be many different factors.

In Sweden it takes 1-2 days to receive your visa package after it has been issued. It can obviously differ a lot between countries.

Ceac status says ISSUED .

with a note which says ' your visa has been printed'

I still do not understand why it takes two weeks for it to get to DHL.

Generally, it takes about a week after status changes to issued before passport and other docs become available at DHL. For the past 2-3 months, they have some backlog so it takes more than a week. On a normal day, after visa is approved at interview, they tell you to pick up in 2 weeks but now 3 because of the delays. If you are in a hurry check back with DHL after a week. A lot of things are not understandable but that's what it is. Unfortunately you won't get any different answers.

That's odd because I know someone who had their interview same day as my fiance (May 16th) and he has received his visa and is already here in the states.

Yea my fiancé is in the same position as yours. His said issued on the 5th as well. When he went the lady said they are passing out visas from May 26 and he should come back in 2 weeks. However his paperwork says if it says "issued" it's ready for pickup. So I guess there is a backlog. I called the call center and the lady said it will change from "issued" to "pickup", I'm not sure how true that is.
