Hi everyone !

I just registered on this site because i really really need your, guys, help or advice. I'm so lost.

So the NVC sent our case to the Consulate in Kiev on May 15th and it got there on May 16th, status changed to "ready". In Ukraine i can't schedule an appointment before the status changes to AP/until the embassy lets me.

So it's the 7th of June today and i just got an answer from the embassy telling me that they still don't have my case even tho my fiancé talked with a NVC supervisor who told him that it's there for sure, but nobody got it out of the system. Is this normal? Do I have to just wait? Because i don't think there's actually something i can do..

Thank you all in advance!

Hi..

What does it say when you check your case status here https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=o/iS8zDpeAKjMWCuebHqOw==

Status "ready"  usually means the Embassy has received the case and you can start getting ready for your interview.. It's not "AP"...

Did NVC give your Fiance the case number that starts with "KEV xxxx"?....

Hi,  thanks for reply :) Yes , it's "Ready" since May 16 but as long as i know i can't schedule an interview before the embassy lets me know they have a case. Today i received an answer from the embassy about them not having my case yet, so that's why i'm so confused and wondering what do i do. If i schedule an interview in advance - they will just cancel it. And yes ,  we have this letter.

You are right, the Embassy should contact you and let you know they have the case, but as soon as your case status is "ready" - you should be able to proceed with your next steps (medical, interview) with or without the Embassy Letter/notice...

Well, it's really odd they have your case in status 'ready" not having the actual case.

And if NVC says they mailed your case, it should have already arrived...

I would, probably, wait a little more, a week or maybe, to the end of this week. Then - one more inquiry with the Embassy, Kyiviv@state.gov  and if they still  don't have the case - your Fiance should call NVC again, to make sure the case has been sent and WHEN and WHERE it's been sent..

I'm so sorry you are going through this... Let us know how the "whereabouts of the case" inquiries go... I wish you the best!!!

The thing is that he already called the NVC numerous times and even spoke to a supervisor who said it's for sure delivered and is in the Kyiv Embassy's system. He was looking at our case while talking to my fiancé. It took it one day to get to the Consulate. And he also said that they don't send physical copies anymore , only electronically.

So i was wondering if it's possible that the embassy might just be busy so they don't  start processing our case yet?

So confused :(  and thanks again!

The US Embassy in Kyiv is usually pretty fast. They don't keep cases, sitting "somewhere"... I believe as soon as the case "enters"  the Embassy, it's scanned and automatically - in the system...

I'm also getting confused now...

Alright, plan "B" :)

Start getting ready for your interview. - you have KEVxxxx number of your case, right? A lot of people  have never received any email from the Embassy and they still were able to proceed with their next steps as soon as they had their KEV # and status of the case was "ready"..

So, 1) -  make an appointment for medical. They will need that KEV #. 2) or it could be first ;) - fill out DS-160. 3)  -after you are done with your medical and have the results,  try to schedule your interview.... If the system does let you go through and you have the confirmation page - I believe you are fine. If not, and they still don't have the case or something else - the Embassy will contact you.  And if it happens, at least it won't be just you anymore, who is trying to learn where is your case...

I do hope everything will be fine!!

Great news!!! Thank you for letting me know!!! One more thing out of the "worry" list, right? :)

Good luck with your medical and interview!!!

P.S. Don't forget to bring your vaccination record in, for your medical exam and  make sure you were given DS-3025:)
